Rooneys goal was special, but it wasn't the best the premier league had seen at all. Personally berbatovs against liverpool was better. rooneys come off his shin, and he had been gobbing all game. Sky need to fuck off with the excessive reporting.

TBH, most well hit overheads will connect with the shin area as you really require to get the arch of the boot over the top of the ball in order to direct it straight/down instead of it going sky high ... of course this only really true if you trying to hit with power, soft ones you can connect with the laces of the boot etc if you looking to get a more arching sort of shot off

Nonsense, the speed and angle Rooney took that ball at was magnificent, Berbatov's was a beautiful peice of skill but the ball was only moving vertically when he struck it which is a much easier shot to take.

As for Trevor Sinclar wondergoal which Gibbo mentioned, that would probably be my pick as well but I do remember Mark Hughes scoring an amazing one too.

Berbas showed more skill for me, crouch has scored a good couple of goals similar.

I am not arguing that point, the whole Berbatov move where he sets himself up is sensational but the actual strike isn't amazing. For Rooney to take that shot when it is moving at such pace while dipping and moving is nothing short of brilliant, the postitioning technique required is immense but also to hit it with such power into the top corner. It was sublime and whilst nothing will ever live up to all that silly Sky Sports News hype it was a beautifully taken goal, not the best ever and probably not even the best this season but it is a 10/10 non the less.

Oh and none of Crouch's goals were taken at that height and with such pace on the ball, nor slotted away with such finesse and power. Good as they were.

they were higher but as crouch is 63 foot and rooney is only 4 foot 5 his looked like he had to jump higher

No; he's on loan till the end of the season. His move to Stoke(?) fell through after he failed a medical, and because of the way he tried to engineer that move, Hoffenhiem said he'll never play for them again.
Nah he signed a 3 year deal with them.

Im gonna miss him so much :(

I keep hearing how City are getting closer, don't see it myself.

Last season, after 27 games, City were on 49 points. This season, after 27 games, City are on 49 points.

Great player, no doubt and will never be forgotten. Cristiano is on such an incredible run now though, when your team start winning trophies again is when he finally takes over the mantle left behind by the golden goofy one.

Makes them look even more retarded for getting rid of hughes. How much have they spent this season? To be in exactly the same place as last season? With any luck they will miss out on champions league football next season and go into meltdown.

Yeah he's announced it now. Fatty going to get his shemale on.

Why do so many people call him that? he was a very good footballer and should be respected for things which happened on the pitch and not off the pitch?

I'm sorry, what? His professional and private live's are separate, I don't have to respect him as a person to respect him as a footballer.
