I didn't have one, was too busy smiling at the peformance by Smalling, looks like we have a natural replacement for Ferdinand now.

Was surprised at Smalling's performance. Didnt expect much from him given he not really stood out in previous appearances and was pretty poor end of last season. . . but he really was strong today and even looked comfortable in possession.

It seems that he a mix of Vidic and Rio ... he willing to attack the ball and get stuck in like Vidic, but also has the comfort of being the one to step back and just sweep up and/or distribute the ball.

And Keitz... overhead kicks are alot more difficult then a volley. It actually takes a lot of skill to even make the initial connection, let alone control the shot on target and put power in it . . . I could smash a volley any day of the week and get decent control over it, but an overhead kick is one of those rarities. You can try it 100 times, connect with the ball 20 times (semi decent connection that goes at least partially towards goal), and hit the target 5 times, with only 1 having real chance of going in. Really is difficult to execute them well.
Why is Rooney's better then most? Well most overkicks scored are from 6-10yrds out and more of a looping slow connection that goes in due to keeper being out of position compared to where the ball loops too. . . Rooney was 12 yrds out, hit it with alot of power and put it right in the corner whilst the keeper was well placed in comparison to where the play was.

For a stand alone finish, it easily is goal of the season so far... BUT ... if you want to look at overal moves that finish in goals then it will not necessarily be up there as there some slicker teamplay goals that have lots of lovely passes that finish with the ball in the net which often overlooked for a bit of individual brilliance

No; he's on loan till the end of the season. His move to Stoke(?) fell through after he failed a medical, and because of the way he tried to engineer that move, Hoffenhiem said he'll never play for them again.

Meh, you fielded a weaker team and paid for it. I'm not sure it was the right thing to do, I preferred Wenger's approach of playing his best and getting them ready for Wednesday.

That goal by Rooney,

It was a good goal but theres good goals scored every weekend and the wankfest that Sky have been having over it today has made me turn off Sky Sports News. Funny thing is he was shit all game, the ball was bouncing off him like he was a pinball machine, then he scores that goal and all of a sudden Rooney is world class again, best player in the world, back to his best. They either come off or they don't those attempts on goal.
