anelka > torres
probably the best game he's had for us, after months of being shite
seems to be playing behind the 2 strikers as well, could be epic with torres instead of kalou
If you don't think that being closer to the ball when it will land is an advantage then football clearly is too high brow for you.
The shot by a team-mate (A) (in this case a pass by Coleman) rebounds off an opponent (Koscielny) to attacker (B) (Saha) who is penalised for playing the ball having previously been in an offside position.
I'm not sure it could be that much more simple. There is no easier way of breaking this down for you. This offside is exactly the example used in Fifa's laws of the game, number 12. Wow.
You're just making yourself look stupid now, honestly please stop.
was it too hard to read? I admitted he could be offside because of that rule, but not from the example you were referring to.
/edit: The thing is, it's 2 different situations. First the pass which doesn't reach him. It's a new situation after the clearance as it was created by the defenders bad technique and not the pass. So he doesn't actually get advantage of the pass, but the clearence.
Offside occurs when the ball leaves the foot of the first player. It doesn't matter if the ball hits a defender and is deflected, or if the defender tries to clear it - the offence has already happened - when the pass was made.
sigh, more insults. It does matter. If Saha isn't pressuring Kos then he's not active and it therefore isn't offside.
ok, long post coming up..
Yesterday you were slagging him off, others were saying he was washed up. far from it boys, far from it. He might be an ugly greedy granny shagging cnut but there is no doubt when he is on form he is a top quality striker.
Seriously, don't bother. It's my job to know what offside is. You're wrong and trying shout longer in the vain thought that will somehow change the laws of offside and make you right. It won't.
