What a shit way to concede - still we can only blame ourselves. Wish Fergie had just gone 4-4-2, we had no width the way we were playing.

You really know fuck all about United or football in general. He had 18 months left on his deal, he would never be sold for less than £30 million, Fergie would stick him in the reserves and let him rot until his contract ran out before being bullied into selling him for a pitance.

The truth about Rooney is that he is not in a good place at the moment, his marriage is a sham and falling apart but a divorce is going to cost him 70% of his fortune. His form is suffering because his home life sucks and his is not motivated to play because it isn't bringing him any happiness right now. None of that changes the fact that when on form he is a brilliant player and could command a spot in any side anywhere in the world, it makes me laugh when all you bitter bastards try bring him down as a footballer because I just know that at some point his is going to find the form of last year and ram it all down your fucking throats.

He might be an stupid ugly bastard but Rooney is still be best English forward by a fucking mile and it eats you all alive that he doesn't play for your club. :D

We all know that Roonie is in the top10 of the world. It is completely stupid to say thatthis awesome player isnt worth any more.

But this is a perfect example when a player has a personal problem then it immediately effects his career. (see also Robert Enke - R.i.p., Sebastian Deisler)

If Fergie let him rot in the reserves then he would have got even less, selling this January would have also only got around 15m (not many clubs have the money).

Fergie's only solution was to give him a bigger contract and hope he gets back on form then sell him later on if need be.

Football is all about money :p

Edit: Also, going on form, Andy Carrol is the best English striker at the moment :)

Fuck me you talk some shit Keitan :p

So what would have happened if Rooney did not sign that contract? probably 10-15m transfer to Real Madrid in January, now he has signed it that fee will be increased by atleast 10-15m if they ever want to sell.

Well they're quite short of options with Tevez, Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Ballotelli and Jo.

Santa Cruz looks like he'll finally move to Lazio in Jan, albeit only on a loan. Adebayor is being sold - although who'd be insane enough to take on that lazy waste of space?

Even with all the shit off the pitch at least Tevez still gives 100%. United can't say the same about roonie, so glad City never signed him. Hopefully united will keep him for a long long time.

Maybe AC Milan if they can't afford Zlatan at the end of the season?

he's playing good so i dont find any reason to dont keep him.

Also i am not sure about this, but Milan have to buy Ibra even if they dont want him to stay.

You reckon? He moved on loan with the option to buy for 24m Euros at the end of the season, so on current form he'd be worth that investment, but I guess it comes down to whether Milan have the money for the transfer.

But i remember (not sure tho) that it was something like:

1 year on loan + standard buy the next one.

Option to buy, not a forced sale. Barca will be fucked if Milan can't afford him - I also doubt Milan are paying 100% of his wages.

He's actually not that bad, could see him doing very nicely in Italy.

Rooney is actually putting alot of effort in so you can stop right there. The problem is not one of effort but of form and happiness, his first touch has been poor because his head isn't in a good place, one that gets resolved the goals will flow and the papers will start spouting shite about him being the best player in the world again. That is way of English football, it ebbs and flows, one minute you are king and the next you are dogshit. The media feed the fires and the plebs revel in the blaze that follows.

Now? Not a chance, in pure merchandise alone he is worth that to the club over a 2 year period. If he hadn't signed the new contract United would have let him go for anything over £30 million in the forthcoming transfer window.

I felt sorry for Rooney last night you can see he is trying really hard doesn't help when you have every supporter on the other team booing him everytime he does something wrong.

People like that need to get a life i mean he's our England striker for at least another 8 years so get behind him ;/

Yeah, a good manager would sell him asap if his form doesn't get better and fast.

I thought the same about Mascherano, went for 15m..? and Mascherano wasn't as unhappy as Rooney was :p anyway that's in the past now.

Also Rooney deserves everything he gets from the supporters after the World Cup and his abysmal behaviour.
