"Absouletly rapes him" lol Pardew got my respect for having the balls, or bad judgement, to say that on BBC.

So how are Barca going to get around the debt rules?

The debt rules iirc, apply to spending on the first team, not the academies?

Yes but our wage bill is still gonna be huge. Messi is the best paid player in the world for a start and Xavi and Iniesta wont come cheap. Probably adds some fuel to the Alves rumours about him wanting more than whats on the table

This sponsorship deal won't give you enough money to even cover your wages for a season, you are going to need big changes in the way the club is run to meet the regs in 3 years.

So I agree, I can see Alves and possibly a few others going. You've got enough players coming through to cover the losses.

stolen from the guardian

Sky Sports football pundit Jamie Redknapp has won the 'Foot in Mouth' award at the Plain English Campaign's annual awards ceremony. Examples included: "These balls now - they literally explode off your feet." And: "[$tevie Mbe] makes runs into the box better than anyone. So does Frank Lampard." Then again, if you want a measure of said awards, the gong for best national radio programme went to Robbie Savage for 6-0-6

I very much enjoy Robbie Savages show, he isn't afraid to be unpopular if it means speaking his mind. In many ways he is a more sensible version of Stan 'Dogger' Collymore.

Thank you Emile Ivanhoe Heskey! <3 Very, very lucky today but gosh those three points feel nice. Was good to see the team imposing themselves on a game too and getting the ball forward quicker and longer.

I'm not football purist, I want to see my team create chances and score goals -- something that has been conspicuous by its absence under Monsieur Houllier. Albion played all the football, and very well too, but we got the goals and the points. That suits me fine.
