In the majority of the times Barca plays with the starting eleven even if the game isnt that too important.

I think that Guardiola will make a few changes (2 - 3 at the most)

But Xavi, Messi, Villa etc will be in the first 11

I tend to think they were waiting for a small bad run to sack him asap.

Shame on you Newcastle.

Credit to Hughton, he's done the impossible with that club, and with no money.

I can see where the board are coming from, they clearly wanted someone with experience in there from last season; they've used Hughton to stabilise and allow the Ashley saga to fade from the headlines. They can attract a much better manager now than they could have in the summer, and someone who has a month to look for targets in January. However, Hughton deserved better.

Mike Ashley thought it was time to come back into the spotlight again so thought hmmm how would i do that, i know fire the manager that's been doing a fantastic job with a team that's had no investment. Brilliant job newcastle.

You know what Ch3t I dont think they can, Chris Houghton was doing a fantastic job there, including whacking Sunderland (not my happiest of days) They are sitting in 11th and doing quite well. I really cant see a new manager coming in with no money to play with and doing a better job. For me they needed to stabalize this season and then look to push on from there. Consistancy is the key, sadly all Mike Ashley sees are £ signs.

There new manager will probably be a journey man manager ala Joe Kinnear, which could well end up getting them relagated which would be a huge shame and I'm saying this as a Sunderland fan and ex season ticket holder for about 12 years.

Don't be suprised if they already had someone lined up, Hughton was never getting that job permanently unless he performed miracles and was top 5. Sad but true.

Shocker about Chris Hughton, he was doing a smashing job at Newcastle.

Worst Liverpool team seen in many years announced for the game tonight. If we can't get at least a point here then Houllier should be ashamed. Not that he ever would be, seeing as he won the European Cup, discovered Ronaldo and is renowned for his attacking football. Or some other very similar but equally deluded words.

Decent game so far, Liverpool not playing like they are missing their strongest players. Kuyt, Ngog and Babel all doing well.....

As they score. Ngog 1 - 0 Villa

On topic; Maxi's scarf (and Tevez) is a disgrace! They belong with all the other homo stuff in Italy
Only Kuyt keeping it manly in short sleeve shirt, my hero.

Martin Jol for Newcastle... he's just left Ajax by mutual consent.

About time he came back to the PL, a good replacement. Still very sad for Hughton.

What a shower of shite. Wouldn't mind getting Houllier out and getting Jol in. Actually Hughton would be better than Houllier.

Bit stunned by hughtons sacking.

We've had a bit of a poor run of form recently but we did stuff the mackems.........we're still mid tableish and looking relatively ok on the pitch.

ah well, here we go with more instability, Ashley out protests and the manager merry go round.

Jol didn't so too well at Ajax though.
He whined at no money to spend and delivered unbalanced teams and signings ( Mido Lol).

Sneijder not on the top three of the three best players of last season is just plain silly...

Tough list to be fair, he was bloody good all year but the competition with Messi/Xavi/Ronaldo is not clear cut as they all did amazing things at times.
