true its possible, i just wouldnt have expected it :p

its just not that often teams win by 5 goals even against lesser teams!

Well at least the choker was right, he did claim Barcelona wouldnt score 8 goals against RM!

But given the formations and the form both teams were in, at least on paper you had a feeling there would be goals galore

I dont think it will affect either team too much. Pep is a humble guy, the opposite of the translator. He just walked down the tunnel at the end, not wanting to steal his players limelight and this instils in the players. They will just carry on where they left off and wont get delusions of grandeur. As for RM, they will have a point to prove and will tear some teams apart in the short term. IMO of course.

it was a great display from Barca.

Barca just proove that is still by far the best team in the world.

I hate Real Madrid but i really like all the fans who support this team cause when they see an opponent team that plays well they recognise that :).

the IOC will investigate Fifa Vice-President Issa Hayatou because of the claims made by the BBC in their Panorama show (he is also an IOC exec), Fifa themselves have dismissed the claims

the problem being that under Swiss law (during the time the bribes took place) it wasnt technically illegal, however unethical it might have been.

is it sad that the IOC immediatly investigates but FIFA simply sticks its fingers in its ears and blames the british media?

Only just seen the goals..

Messi's assist on 4-0 was superb. By far the best goal of the game imo

Wow, I don't think I can recall a time when Jose has fucked up so bad tactically. The Real players were poor barring perhaps Pepe, Ronaldo and Benzema didn't get a look in, and had to drop deep to often. Alonso was constantly out of position chasing down balls his teammates should have. Di Maria was awful - think the pressure of the occasion got to him possibly.

If you let Barca play that openly you are asking for trouble, you don't then compound that by playing a high line, and continuing to do so despite all the early warnings.

Both teams still have a chance to win the league though, I'm sure there will be slip ups by both between now and the end of the season.

Guyz.. the only system that you can stop Barca is the full defensive style. Not the best to watch but the best in order to beat Barca.

Remember Inter, Chelsea the previous years etc.

I don't believe that for one second. We played offensive football against them, with the defenders on the halfway line a lot of times and high pressure, and we could easily have won the match 2-1.

It only ever seems to work from teams that BArca deem beneath them though Wonk. They aren't prepared for it.

Well, it still worked. They're not doing a lot of counter attacks, and their ball possession doesn't mean shit when they are on their own half.

This.

A good manager will know which games to get his players up for. You cannot go into every single game chomping at the bit, ready to play at the top level of your ability. Some games you have to drop the intensity a little or you will be burnt out mentally by the end of the season. if this means dropping your mentality for "lesser" teams (no offence intended to the copenhagen fans) then sometimes you may struggle if this lesser team has mentally raised their game for it and his nothing to lose. I remember SAF alluding to this himself after beating juventus in the champions league, the roy keane game and then losing the next game at home to someone like Sunderland.

Of course, when you are one of the best teams in the league, even dropping your intensity a little will be enough to get past most teams but there are times when you will come unstuck.

This is the reason why sometimes you will blow away the likes of Real Madrid by 5 goals and other times, you will struggle against the likes of Levante. Its a long season and you can train physical fitness easily, its the mental fitness that you need to keep in check

So what you are saying is that Pep only needs to get his players mentally ready for Real games in the domestic league and some teams in the Champions League?

So far they haven't showed up for any Champions League matches this season, due to being in a group with inferior teams?

You must walk around with the taste of shit all day long, cause you sure are talking it..

He's right though, they aren't going to be as up for european minnows like Copenhagen as they would be for your Real Madrid/Chelsea etc etc.

It's true though. You think Barcelona try as hard against Copenhagen as they do against Real Madrid or teams in the knock out stages? Group stages are just a formality and the top teams will do what they need to do to get through and that's it.

The Great Achievements Of Real Madrid's Players Against Barcelona At Camp Nou

Pepe – By far the best Portuguese on show, even taking the bench into consideration. He was at fault for Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s winner last year, but learned his lesson, and the Swede was simply nowhere to be seen this time.

Marcelo – The only Real player to have an assist in the game, superbly setting up Xavi. He was also close to scoring himself, but Pedro outpaced him for the ball on the second goal.
