Luck was on chelskis side today, really poor decision leading to and with the goal itself.

We played better for the most part, and I did not see the mighty unstoppable chelsea everyone keeps going on about. We are really unlucky to not even get a point from this.

The top clashes are never going to be amazing spectacles are they. You don't have to play awesomely to win, that was proved today. Neither keeper was worked more than a handful of times for 90 minutes but we managed to score and thats how it goes sometimes.

the freekick was definately fair enough considering Drogba got a yellow for being drop kicked in the chest in the penalty box

blame fletcher for that, how he avoids cards so often is a mystery to me

blame the ref for that, he lost the plot totally starting with the drogba yellow card and from there on it went totally downhill with many poor decision.

And i didnt see what fletcher done wrong that match, he didnt put any real bad tackle in all match. And least didnt cry like carvalio when he tripped over the little portugese ponce :p

not our most deserved victory but i couldnt give a shit :D

3 match ban for rooney swearing at the camera?

At least it was entertaining. I would say we (Man U fan here) were the better team, but the final decision making was a bit Arsenal-like at times in terms of our attack, trying one touch too many. Sneaking these results is what makes champions so fair play to Chelsea.

I will say:

14th minute penalty claim? If he wanted his shirt he should have bought it rather than trying to steal it AND knock the knee (although glanced as it was.)

Carvalho deserved the booking for walking on with the ball, and Evans deserved his for the petulant foul.

Drogba backed into Evans - it's a shame he got those studs, but he was the one backing in and turned at the last moment. Then we saw the ugly side of someone who is an excellent player, rolling about like a twat as Ronaldo did so often. It was tragic to see Ray Wilkins protest and gesture to the 4th official that he threw the kick out again OFF the floor. Not even fucking Bruce Lee could do that. Muppet. The card was fair.

Ref definitely lost control after the goal, but then it's a big game, and trying to control that sort of action is hard work. I'm not really defending him because he made some key mistakes. Fletcher got the ball for the free kick that actually got Chelsea the goal, but he mowed through Cole so imo it was a free kick. But Drogba was offside and blocked. That's active, so no goal.

Still c'est la vie - this is what makes it interesting. If we play like that at Trafford Chelsea are fucked :)

The reason why I quoted you megadave. Giggs took a corner and in the background there was a girl who couldn't have been any older than 10/11 and she had her finger up at him. Likewise, later on a boy was doing the wanker sign to Drogba. Now that sort of thing REALLY saddens me. :(

You're picking on Rooney because he was your opponent - there isn't actually anything in the rules that says he does not have the right to say what he wants on the pitch as long as it isn't challenging the ref's authority in an inappropriate manner. Again, I won't condone it, but if we decided to ban every player that we saw swear on the pitch, it wouldn't even be 5-a-side. And it could even get to the feckoned point whereby cameras are on players to get them banned. It could get very subjective that

From what I have seen of Obertan so far, he should be getting in ahead of Nani all day long!!!

What a shame for Manchester United, and the Premier League, that Ronaldo is no longer playing for them. Before, I said that £80 million would be worth it to sell Ronaldo. However, now that Ferguson has not replaced him, it was a big mistake. It would have been a day like this when Ronaldo would have stepped up and won it for United. Rooney is good but Ronaldo is in a different class to him. He is not good enough to carry United on his shoulders. If they hope for silverware this season, they must spend big in January. Ferguson needs to do what Wenger did and buy a top class player - we all know how well Arshavin's signing paid off for Arsenal.

Yeah, I have been very impressed with him. A combination of him and Evra down the left would be lethal week in week out. He is quick, powerful, and skillfull. With him and Valencia we have two proper wingers covering the left and the right.

While i think signing Valencia lacked ambition from man u i still think 80 mil is too much to turn down

Chelsea just looked like a number of players were having off days, it shouldn't happen but it seems rather common when the big clubs play each other.

Today was the first game i think we've played against a five man midfield. Fergie did it last year at Stamford Bridge too with Haregreaves and super-Park running the channels to keep Bosingwa and Cole quiet. Today Valencia did a great job keeping Ashley cole in his own half but didn't really do much in the way of an offensive job. Ivanovic got forward more than i expected and did a great job considering he's a centre back by trade.

Given that our main width outlets weren't given their usual freedom and the middle of the pitch was so packed it's understandable for so many players to have been off-colour. But the important thing is we got 3 points which may be critical in keeping us at the top if we have a bananaskin against Arsenal at the end of the month.

Yeah i think if we'd brought Malouda on it would have changed our shape completely on the left side. Although i have to say Ivanovic did a pretty fine job on the right more or less on his own.

We've looked a bit slack in the past 2 games, maybe it's just the opposition being hungrier but we should be closing down off the ball much more than we did today.

Yeah when i watched the Man Utd vs CSKA Moskow match he did more in those 10 minutes than Nani did all game. Also I enjoyed watching this bit of skill (55 seconds)
YouTube- Gabriel Obertan vs Chelsea Away By Ladlem2.

I think Ferguson made the right choice with 4-3-3. Our 3 central midfield meant both man utd and chelsea had nullified each others midfield. With the 3 up front we forced Ashley Cole to stay in his own half. Ivanovich would roam forward more but ultimately they forced them back. That let Evra and O'Shea go forward more which helped us.

I think when the top teams play it does not matter who has the most posession because it only takes 1 small mistake or a little bit of luck to score/concede.

Birmingham City can hardly pass the ball to each other, but somehow they're 2-1 in front ... goodness me. Taxi for Mr Benitez?

Fact is while Birmingham can't pass, there is only Benyaoun with a fucking clue on Liverpools team. It says alot that the fans are singing like they had won the match when a half fit Gerard comes on with 3 minutes inury time to go :p

Poor Riera tho :<

ALways happens when coming back from a muscle strain/tear you know you should not have tried to control/shoot the ball from there, but you can't help it.
