I have to say the defending in the premier league has been a little poor so far this season, but it's been very entertaining with only 4 draws in 65 odd games, and lots and lots of goals. However, the spanish league is a joke for defending so far this season, really, really poor standard of play which is why the better teams and players dominate too easily.

Well it was Tenerife, a team new to La Liga, think u can compare it with the like of Hull and their recent loss 6-1.

Yeah but when you see Barca slaughter mid tablers like Atletico it becomes a joke. Hull and Pompey are probably the only premier league teams that are really weak, and you cannot compare Tenerife to either - the promoted teams are Wolves, Burnley and Birmingham - all of whom are capable of beating any of the top teams.

you can hardly compare the spanish and the english playstyles.

Most teams in spain would rather lose 6-3 than 3-0. It's another mentallity over there.

and yes, the gap between the the top 5 teams and the bottom 3, is much bigger in spain.

I wouldnt count the Atletico match as a benchmark. That team is in dire risk of being demoted this year unless theyr rly start getting their act together asap. For instance, they lost 0-3 against Malaga, a bottom table team.

I would have used Vilareal as a true benchmark. Real, while not playin good, won 0-3. Thats a true sign of the increased gap btwn the big two and the rest this year. Specially considering the budget difficulties that some of the other top teams are going through (Valencia, Atletico and to some extend Sevilla).

Wolves, Burnley and Birmingham are capable of winning against the top dogs, but the chance is rly small, same goes for Tenerife, Xerez and Zaragoza. They can win, but the chance is tiny.

The real differece I see btwn EPL and LL is in the mid to bottom teams. EPL has ManU and Chelsea and LL has Barca and Real; EPL has Liverpool and Arsenal and LL has Valencia (they are in need of arab petrodolars tho) and Seville; EPL has ManCity and Tottenham and LL has Atletico (not this year tho) and Vilareal; but from there, theres no match in LaLiga for Aston Villa, Everton, West Ham.

Just my 2 cents

How rubbish are West Ham?! They may as well have stayed on the team coach, sheesh. Man City are doing much better than they would, damn their hides.

Just walking out of the ground now, was a great game and good to see Tevez start scoring as everyone knew he would when he started playing FIRST TEAM football instead of being a bench warmer when clearly he is more than that.

Was nice to see the West Ham fans not boo Tevez either and when Tevez scored he sort of held his hands and apologised.

Maybe if the bitter Arsenal fans did the same thing to Adebayor he wouldn't have stuck the boot into them twats when he scored.

Sorry but bollocks Wenger took him from nowhere and nothing and turned him into what he is talent wise. But last summer he tried to get out but no one wanted him so he came back and kissed the fucking badge, Then the prick shows a total lack of commitment for a season and moves and slags us off how did he think the fans would react he is not a legend and he left in a bad way. And if you think he is loyal to shity you are a mug his agent will turn his head again this summer and you will have to pay him 180k a week or end up with a moppy useless tit.

And bitter Kolo who is a legend got cheered at your place and will at the emirates because he did things right.

Why were you waking out of Old Trafford if United weren't playing? Champion's League games are never on Monday.

You bastard, you stole my comment.

Also Aada, bollocks to the Adebayor comment as Soze already pointed out. Ade manufactured a move away from Arse, and had been for the last two years. The West Ham fans did not boo Tevez because he saved them and publicly stated he would not leave if the club wanted him. Bellamy got booed to hell by the Hammers fans because he did what Ade did, you conveniently fail to mention that.

As I recall he took him from a Champions League finalist team for £7m, hardly plucking him from obscurity now is it? Arsenal and their fans get very precious about other teams chants, fouling, defensive tactics etc etc, and it is a little tiresome.

That said Adebeyor could have started a riot by his, highly unprofessional, antics.

03-04 Final we got him for 4mil in 06 do not try and kid me that he was on your radar when we signed him or that he was anywhere near as high profile as he now is,

Hardly an unknown though, was he?

So if someone said can you name the African player who scored 2 Champions League goals the year Monaco reached the final you would have known his name? Not a total unknown but if he was well known would we have got him for £4million?
