Indeed, we have the Bluenoses sniffing our arses now, was hoping you'd at least get a point. Can't argue with Phillips' finishing though, the guy has always been a top notch goalscorer.

Yup, getting a thrashing of calls and txt from my bluenose mates. Pretty much recided to relegation we really are fucking gash atm. He and Jerome have always had the knack of doing us over.

@Cho, MM is a top bloke, but tactically and transfer wise he's an absolute muppet, even after last years promotion it's clear he isnt the right man to keep us up, this Jan showed it, may be worth getting rid as now and prepare for the future, but who's available?

TBH you put Drogba in a Arsenal shirt and we would have won both games this season comfortably imo. Again we had the better of possession and controlled the midfield but Drogba punished us. But well played Chel$ki i may hate you but you are a strong side.

And no its not time for Wenger to go i do think we need a better excuse than "no one i liked was available" for not getting a striker this game again proves it. We cant beat big clubs with the midfielders playing upfront. If its true we have 40mil in a war chest Wenger should have made someone available but no he should not lose his job.

3rd April - United vs Chelsea. Only 5 games to go in the league after that.

Could be a clincher for either side, could be a bore draw and mean precious little :p

But it's a saturday 3pm kick off, WTF

But didn't Wenger say he didn't see the value of Drogba or some such? I don't think you'll see a physical, meaty player at Arsenal again under Wenger.

I also don't think Drogba was the only difference today. The lack of organisation at that Chelsea corner and in their breakaway was shocking. Pretty basic stuff really, but perhaps defending is not top of Wenger's priorities these days.

Still a good manager, one of the leagues greatest ever, but seems to be a fading force living off past glories and Champions League hopes.

I still think Wenger will try this season and next season playing "his" way. And that will see out his contract if he does not get anywhere he will step aside.

If he doesn't spend he won't win a thing, it is sad to say but City and Chelsea will only be stronger next season and Arsenal will need to spend some to stay in the top 4 nevermind win the league.

I really can't understand why Wenger did not get someone in on loan, a few big strikers were available. Hell even someone like Benjani would have made a huge difference in the game today. You could ave even got Mido without breaking the wage structure :p

Huntelaar was the big miss imo, why no Premier League side have grabbed him is beyond me. Anyone who says he isn't good enough hasn't watched him play enough.

I don't know why either but i really think he is trying to win it with his team his way. Spending big on a star player does not seem to gel with this. And I'm sad to say i agree i do not think we will win the league playing this way.

You have a great young team but are maybe 2 players short of a league winning side imo, even at full strength. Why he cannot see that I don't know but how many more seasons can the Arsenal faithful put up with near misses and bugger all being spent on transfers?

I honestly believe give us Drogba and Chech we could win.

I wonder if all the new contracts he has signed this year, 15 players, have eaten the 40 million war chest. And this we have funds stuff is either talking about a loan, which Wenger is not happy with, or just hoping to stop the fans backing a takeover?

Cech was another key performer because yesterday he seemed to return to how he used to be before he got kicked in the head, basically he was aggressive and unafraid.

what did he have to fear with the meerkat hassling him on set pieces?

Everyone seems to forget about RVP being out. I wonder how Chelsea and Man U would do with Drogba/Rooney out for an equivalent period this season?

Chelsea won all their games when Drogba was at the African nations so I dont think it would bother them at all.

Man United may seem like a one man team, but if you take Rooney out then man for man, they dont look that good on paper (except for the world class Darren Fletcher of course ;) ). However, they play as a team so I think if Rooney was injured, they would still do better than Arse have.

RVP has been missing for much of the past two seasons. He would make a difference but not quite enough imo. The one thing he has proved is that he has glass ankles. We need a class striker and like a few other I feel if we had one Arsenal would be contenders.

I still don't get why Wenger perisists in playing Arshavin up front for 70 mins. In both recent matches when Bendtner came on the shape of the team looked far better.

A lot better, Chelsea have Anelka, Kalou, Sturridge. Utd have Berbatov, Owen, Diouf + which ever youth striker is in favour.

These are strikers that are fit and playing, Arse do not have this. Given the injury crisis with his backup strikers, Wenger needs to give up on "belief", and go spend some money.

Bendter is not fit enough, and Wenger cannot afford to risk him getting injured again, especially as he has gambled on not buying against Bendters fitness.

Arshavin is out of his depth upfront against any top half team.
