I am really happy I have finally upgraded from cable to digital cable and it is amazing, I have 95 channels 959595959595959

also I have talked my mum into getting a cable modem, I was wondering is it worth getting a Telewest one or wait for DSL.

Agreed, I've not seen the ping go above 40 on any English server on any game since I got mine, and as you've got Telewest tv the price is only £25 a month - thats only like a tenner above what BTi are charging for their dial-up service!!! f4gg0ts!

Pity me on poor ADSL (OK, it's not too bad but it costs tons and it's down half the time.)

There's no cable down my street and I'm in an NTL area anyway

Agreed, although saying that is there much difference between NTL and Telewest? NTL is £25 whether you have the cable tv or not iirc, I guess until there are more options we may as well take what we can get...
Whatever you choose, or are forced to get, it's still not much more than paying for the phone calls if you are a serious gamer, and the more people that get it the cheaper it will get... Unless BT have there own way or course...

NTL have had more problems with outages and ping spikes than TW tho. That's the difference afaik

Hmm, that must suck. Telewest is great in that area, I leave home for work in the morning and set the pc to download, um, stuff, and I come in and it's all there... iirc there has only been 1 time that it went down and that was at about 2 in the morning, it was back up by sunrise

I've phoned them a couple of times about this and they just tell me they haven't any plans in the near future to do this.
I wonder how much more it would cost? It's got to be less than double the current price surely!

Really? Because Bt's adsl offer upgrades, but it's simply an offer and you have to pay more depending on how much bandwidth you want. If we can get the upgrades for free thats even better! Fucking Telewest Rock Man!
