My sister had an abortion when she was 15 (no jokes pls!!) and no she didnt have to have parental consent. However my mum and dad were extremely supportive towards her and were there for her. It was a veruy tough psycological time for her and i think it affected her more than she lets on. Shes 18 now and still with the same bf... just a silly mistake to make tbh. My advice woulld always b 2 use condoms unless ur rdy to accept responsibility for ur actions. From the sounds of things it sounds like ur worried if she becomes pregnant. Imo use condoms m8 and eliminate the risk. Better to be safe than moving out of the country lol

on a serious note, take her to a medic he will indicate if pill suits or not. It all depends on habits, methabolic and some blood tests will show what is the best pill to use.
But dont forget ever to take it.

(Depends on the doctor) but he will tell you you have nothing to worry with the pill, etc its safe, etc. and then he will judge wich pill suits your gf better.
There are some stronguer ones than others. and it as everything to do with the ammount of hormones your GF naturally produces. then will be a stronguer pill or a soft one.. that's why the blood tests.
im no doctor but i have been to some enterviews with gf's about that.

The pill is very safe extremly rare for someone too become pregnant whilst on the pill whats a more common occurance is people deliberatly not taking it too become pregnant and claiming they are teh unlucky!
In short the pill is fine, but if you dont trust her 100% then use other methods for example the contraceptive injection much harder too fake it and has the advantage of not being suceptable too "forgeting".
There are a number of different alternatives and can only suggest you go and talk about alternatives with family planning.
That or bum sex.

Hehe aye. But you're completely right (Posted a lot longer than mine) about the doctors etc, I had a few hours talk with my ex about it all, read all the crap you got about it, went through all the scares (AND GOOGLE SEARCHES! ><) so it's pretty easy to give people advice on this ^^

But if you read the thread before your attempt at 'le flame' you would have known that the pill, even when working completely properly, has a success rate of about ~99%. Statistically, that'll fuck a normal couple over in ... a year? Maybe less.
We've decided to go condom style btw and I shall be raiding many clinics soon xD

Bugz, while some of the stuff said here is correct. There are many, many inaccuracies and what is probably pretty misleading information.
As has been said, the pill can be useful, but so can condoms, implants and injections.
I wouldn't take any of the advice here for granted. Get your gf to go see her GP (if she states its regarding family planning she'll get the right one) and take his/her advice only.
It would be extremly foolish to place any weight on whats said to you on a forum, by people you've never met.

Just to clear up a couple of things (not sure if they've already been cleared up, missed a page).
The pill is not effective until 7 days have passed after taking the first one, however as long as you don't miss any, and you start the next month on time then you're fully protected (including the 7 day gap between months).
The pill has an efficacy rate of 98%, this is different from being 98% effective. Basically, there's a 2% chance that the pill will fail, however this by no means guarantees pregnancy (ask anyone trying for a baby) and you still have all the other things effecting the chance of getting pregnant, which reduces the chances of actually getting pregnant while on the pill negligible (about 1 in 5000 if I remember rightly). This of course assumes that you take the pills at the right time and don't miss any. If you're more than 12 hours late with taking a pill, you will need to start from the beginning, and won't be protected for another 7 days.
The failure rate of the pill is the same as condoms.
Side effects can be varying. I've never really got on with the pill that well - I started taking it when I was 18, put on a stone within 3 months, and went from 36C to 38DD. When I came off the pill, these didn't go down, either the weight or the boobs
At the end of the day, the pill is hormones, and can have a lot of side effects - some are stronger than others, the main pill that's used (Microgynon) turns me into a moody weepy bitch, while on my friends it has made them lose their sex drive or become paranoid. This however, will stop as soon as you stop taking it.
