Not sure what to answer really, you sound quite clueless.

It's not point and shoot, you get autolock with the tab key while facing an enemy. You have no hit zones either, the Sniper class has called shots, but they have no meaning. The locking system is MMO style, sometimes you shoot through many enemies without a damage while you have someone autolocked in the back.

As for the PvE versus PvP thingy: Cry more you carebear noob. Not going to argue about it with you, I think I made it clear in my first two posts of the this thread what I mean.

nice to see your still the arrogant **** i always knew you were
ignorance is bliss it seems, but i am still allowed my own opinion thanks for caring tho

and really, if your going to defend something blindly, which btw makes you look like a bit of a tard, you ought to clarify your own position, cos it just rather pathetic.

No, the point doesn't stand, the only thing that stands is the idiot-o-meter, showing a high score for you.

There are a couple of MMOs where you don't have to do PvE at all if you don't want to do it (Guild Wars and EVE Online for example). Obviously one tries to keep both crowds happy, so you will not see a PvP only MMO game often.

Fuck off and troll a different thread okay?

wow, you really really hurt me with your cutting sarcasm. i havent heard such harsh words since i last spoke to a 6 year old who thought they were cool. :fluffle:

only beta'd guild wars, but im pretty sure it had a required PVE content. as for EVE, im sure you were the terror of the server in your starter ship.. oh , you mean you had to mine, or be given money by someone else who had PVEd on your behalf?! but..but..you said ....
stupid fuckwit kiddy :(

You could always make PvE characters or PvP characters in Guild Wars.

I earned my "first big" money in EVE with my character called Molly when the game launched by extorting a corp for 10m with some serious PvP role playing. I told the extorted corp (Tech-5) that I have a spy in their corp (and I had a real human player there as a spy) and they paid me off to reaveal his identity. I paid the spy 2.5m ISK and had a gain of 7.5m, I bought me a Vexor for this and started PvP'ing.

I then joined Space Invaders short after, who most of the time only PvP'ed, who made ISK (in game currency) by ransoming other players. Later at Corp 1 I have been doing similar things.

EVE is infact one of the few games where you do not need to interact with computer intelligence driven entities as in playing against them. Some corps made a living out of joining other corps to infiltrate their ranks and take all assets once it's worth it.

And yes, I was so top notch in EVE, I would fly around in a cheap ship taking out way harder/more expensive fitted ships. In the beta we even used to hold a low security system with noob ships, preventing people from mining Arkanor, making them pay us a fee if they wanted to stay there. It was worth for them to go for the deal instead of doing an other 40 jumps trip.

Now someone who is calling me a kid can come along and can cry that the ISK has been PvE'ed by the others and that's why in the end result the ones taking it in PvP have been doing the same. Though your initial point was that one HAS to PvE in order to be able to PvP. I think I've proven you wrong on this.

I haven't heard anything about the "TR is an FPS"-subject from you anymore, did you just beta TR for 5 minutes like maybe GW?

That's what I mean with "fuck off to troll a different thread", I mean you have absolutly 0 insight on the games as you didn't play them much or if you did you misunderstood basic concepts. I prefer clueless people who ask questions instead of clueless people who make some statements like "TR is FPS" or "you have to PvE in each MMORPG" and say I defend my position blindly where I've made some good points. If my preferance makes me arrogant, so be it, I know to value my level of intelligence that helps me to come to the conclusion that TR for example is not an FPS.

yip, haven't played a game for so many hours straight for a loooooong time.

And very much the first time I don't "feel" the PvE Grind, just run and gun, do a mission here, defend a base there. Lovely.

I didn't beta test this at all ( a friend did and told me to try it out on release - as it would be my type of game.)

I love it, doesn't feel like I'm grinding XP here, just having an utter blast. There's a few annoyances (population of server is almost always high) but I haven't suffered lag yet even on Tiscali!

I'm very much a casual player but found myself playing for almost 5 hours straight last night, seemed to be enjoying it as even my other half was interested in trying out a "wee man" and running about.

It's early days yet, no idea what the end game will be but it's the first MMO in ages where I've not been interested in playing a stealth class, even though they're meant to be ace. I'd rather just shoot and blow the crap out of stuff!

I won't be playing that much but would like to join a clan, anyone on FH in one that's not just a bunch of teenagers? I am 32 and getting on a bit ;)

though, if you decide to play TR now too, don't get disappointed due to the lack of mobs. All those trigger happy new arrivals chew threw like there's no tomorrow :p

Hehe... I often use 10k ammunition on a long run, machine guns :O.

Am working on a TR char planning tool, anyone cracked the attribute to stat formula yet?

Anyone know if the Centaurus server has a dedicated forum of some kind? Nothing here on FH and most of the other larger sites seem pretty quiet (stratics etc).

I wish the MODS here would delete some of the old MMORPG forums like:

EQ2
SWG
EVE

They could make a TR forum then.

Am on Centaurus, which was (is?) the only EU server. Servers are heavily instanced, the first map has like 10 instances + the dungeon instances.

Purchased the game yesterday in a local Dubai store, kudos to PlayNC. GOA still can't shift any boxes this way. Only MMORG you cant buy here!

/rant off.

Did the big update and then onto PlayNC to register the account. This is where it is left. I can't get past the credit card payment issue as it just returns a 'Fraud attempt' message. Checked with the bank and the problem is with NC Corp not my end or account.

After phoning the states lasts night it seems you cannot live in a different country than your Credit Card was issued in. Seems rather silly to me. Surely there must be thousands of people who work abroad, change there address to receive statements etc but remain with their home country bank. Armed Services, people on short 12 month contracts etc.

Anyway, still trying to resolve the issue through Rightnow.

That sucks Hawkwind :( absolute madness. I could understand if the credit card company was blocking it but not the retailer!

Yeah, this smells like one of those things you can work around, like ask your a very trusted relative to register your account from home, or something?

Alternatively, get a bank account where you live, and do a standing order to it from your other account? I dun like credit cards, anyway... (mumbles).

I am happy that there are no official forums, it's usually the first place to get a good game ruined or where needed steps are stomped down.

The char planner I am working on will have the possibility to save builds and rate them and to open threads on our forums to discuss the builds, so I hope that our forums will pick up in regard of non clan members too.

right well i'm up and running as a lvl 9 soldier wannabe ranger called Sach so give me a wave if you see me :)

Its funny, i haven''t been this clueless about a game since daoc, every skill point i worry i am gimping myself :)

As for TR itself, i wasn't sure at first but the more i play the more i am enjoying it. Funnily enough its the first mmorpg in ages where i am actually enjoying soloing, although i am starting to get the desire to group.

don't worry about gimping a char. At every branch (5,15,35) you get a free clone point and that clone won't have any skillpoints spend. Attributes are the same your main had though.
And the "Targets of Opportunity" Missions reward an extra clone point.

So just keep on gunning ;)

The tiers are at level 5 - 15 - 30. As far as I know you get only a free clone credit once, while you're still a Recruit. The targets of opportunity credit is an option, but the clone will not be able to redo the missions the original did.

As on the amount of training points and planning, I think that zeus' TRCB is wrong, according to the manual (page 33) you get 6 training points at level 50 (unlike 4 at 5, 15, 30). So you would have 110 in total instead of zeus' 106. In theory, in practice you have 104. See also Stratics Message Forums: Total Training Points where a TR community manager responds.

wouldn't this work, finish the ToO Quest -> clone -> hand it in on both chars?
