The problem

convoker ML2 - Prescience Node.

It seems anyone with the convoker ML2 can drop a node which has the effect of uncovering stealthers in a 1500 range while the node is active (15 mins lifespan with 1hp)

While the stealther is visible because of the node, no effects may be cast on him while he's stealthed still (but visible as an outline). The bug seems to be pets may still attack these 'outlined stealthers'

Now the node is so small it can be hidden in terrain so getting rid of them may be difficult. They are on a 15 sec recast timer and as many may be placed as the convoker has power. This means milegates/keeps/commonly traversed terrain will be a minefield for stealthers wishing to sneak up on people.

It is not confirmed but these nodes may prevent any styles including CS from being used while the stealther is under the influence of a node.

Solution

It seems milegate camping and stealther groups may need 'minesweepers' in the form of GTAoE or PBAoE just to be able to cross commonly used spots unseen.

Before all stealthers go loony I'd expect this to be nerfed to hell pretty damn quick . I don't have a active stealther but I still feel anyone one ML which can affect RvR on such a grand scale can't be good for the game.

um. not really. I know stealthers are a pain in the ass and any non-stealther would love to get rid of them, but rendering one skill line on any class isn't at all good for the game.

like they did to archers with see hidden you mean.. oooh yes I remember..

stealthers are the scum in daoc and deserve every piece of crap that comes their way :)

Convokers is also a path only available to mages, who then cant attack the outline of the stealther and they die in a millisecond if they approach him. So you'd have to organise a group with a convoker and tanks to clean up stealthers.
Maybe a little harsh, but come on, every milegate is camped by fgs stealthers now, and thats no fun either.

Remember, Mythic are using the live servers to Beta test TOA and are 'adjusting' ML's as people get them. Look at the ML1 for Battlemaster with the end usage reversal..

So.... Spiritmasters or Bonedancers with this... :eek:
Runies still get shit from the ML's compared to the other casters, so dont worry about getting bolted at least :)

From what I've gathered, you can't target stealthers until they're within the normal distance you could target them from. This won't stop some Eldritch with a spec in void, or other classes from other realms (don't know who has GTAoE :p) to uncover them.

I'm hoping it's only the caster who created the orb that can see the stealther. From above, I think it means the stealther can still be seen from a longer distance by the person who casted the orb and is now dead. If other people can see the stealther from that distance it is overpowered imo, but otherwise, I think it's a good move on stealth by Mythic, even though some may disagree with the changes made. This'll just give most casters the chance to avoid stealthers and/or alert tanks who would try to find the poor stealther through directions given :)

It doesn't have a recast timer. It takes 15sec to cast, and last for 15min. It effectively kills stealth on anyone in a 1500 radius.

Truesight is useless now. Assassins are useless in keepdefense or attack. Part of the rogue's abilities is stealth - so they can pick a target and can strike first. With this ML, we are stripped of that. Where's our compensation?

Don't count on it. See Hidden went live after all their testing as well - took them almost a year to discover it was a mite overpowered. I really wonder why Mythic is so hell bent on making stealthers unplayable. :/

Because they're assassins that can take on pure tanks with at least 50% chance of winning?

Stealthers are a big part of why this game went shit. It's true and you know it. It's about fucking time something was done.

Tho I agree nerfing them aint right. Instead they should get a free classrespec to a visible class, and their stealther deleted.

I was expecting something along the lines of truesight, active for 1 min, recast 30 mins which while annoying and more than enough to trip up a lot of stealthers is not unbalancing. With 15 mins duration and 5 sec recast time, they can basically cover the whole zone with them.
Once again we get nerfed by proxy, in the loving given to others.
Thanks god WoW will be out about the same time as we get this shit.

well wacking theyr stealth ability is not the way to solve "this issue" cuz less stealth
more gankage...

and btw if an assassin kill a tank using his CS opening line and poison is good to me... in open field ok not rlly...

if an archer kill from range a tank without a shield due his hig lvl in bow is damn right... by all the time he spent swearing to get a lvl...

and not forget that now after shield/parry patch is rlly hard to beat a tank for an assassin...

no... stealther is not part ov the problem :) are just a result ov bad player attitude and wrong game mechanism, this game is shit, just dued to Dev's, Marketing strategy, and players too...

assassins that can take out pure tanks? you're prob talking about RR 10 assassin with a buffbot. There is almost no way that a normal assassin can take out a pure tank.

And the main reason why this game went shit for me is insta mezz and pbaoe ! I've seen armies of albs, mids and hibs seen whiped by 1 - 2 fg, with a bunch of pbaoe and instamezz. And lets not forget keep takes !!! Camping the lord with pbaoe is hell

Why attack a keep with a few fg, if 2-3 lord camping pbaoe'ers can take them down in a few minutes? If it was up to me, pbaoe would not be effective through walls/gates/...

have you even tried out ToA yet? What are the unbalances in the game that is so severe atm? And are you aware of that frontiers are next thing on Mythics big to-do-list after ToA? Are you aware that they have a RAreview planned? Are you aware of that there is a stylereview planned?

And ofc its a "mustbuy", do you expect Mythic to release a product that they have spent time and manpower and probably a heapload of cash on to develop and ensure it isnt needed? Are you daft?
