Hi I'm thinking of reactivating my DAoC account but wondered what the game is like now? I haven't played since well before TOA came out so hoping this has improved things.

How has the game improved? When I quit the PVE groups were hard to get before lvl40+ as everyone seemed to be powerleveled. Paladin's were not much fun anymore, endurance bots, who got owned in RvR. If were under RR4 and not in a specialist RvR guild, it was damn hard getting good groups. Has this changed much?
Please persuade me as I'd like to get back to harassing my old guild in /gu - miss the Blade&Quill like mad, great guild /salute

My fondest memories of DAoC where back before any of the expansions, when after DAoC release it was all mostly PVE with lots of groups of all levels to be had, many good times were had in Salisbury plains, Lyonesse etc. Could even go to rvr at lvl 35+ Being under level 40 was actually fun!

:edit: spelling :D

If you enjoy PvE, then ToA you'll like alot, whole bunch of stuff explore and do, tho RvR you'll need to go through ToA etc etc.

Wouldn't recomend going RvR atm below 48 now, tho thid and bg3 seem active on excal.

The game has developed a long long way since the days of classic only.

Classic camelot is rarely inhabited - the far reaches are now home only to cabalists and necros (a new class that came with SI, primarily used for power-levelling). Long gone are the days of sitting around waiting for a sorc to turn up, so you can get that 1 bulb a day xp at tanglers.

In actual fact, xping is the easiest and quickest part of the game by far these days. To compete in RVR, it is required that you hunt artifacts and spelllcraft your MP crafted armour. All new things I'm sure you'll agree. Money flies around like anything these days, items commonly selling around 10plat each.

tbh the amount of changes are impossible to summarise. It is a LONG way off how daoc used to be, a completely different game infact. The only real way you can work out how is to try it yourself.

Thanks for the replies, guess I have to face up to the fact you never rediscover the joys of leveling your first character to 50. Am very glad the game has changed though as I think it was needed. Will ummm and arrr a bit over whether to reactive though :)
