The game could be interesting, but they messed up space a bit.. it isnt true space as you cant basically change your ship to point directly up and go on that axis, you got to spiral up etc which sucks... also there no shields for top/bottom which means going underneath/aboe can hit a strong shield because you slightly past it. All this can be seen in the videos and was strange they went this way.

I think what make it better is the fact you can choose weapon loadout etc. So instead of phasers you could load up on torpedoes, or have various different types of weapons. Gives you a nice interesting mix of things you can do but long term Im not sure what they will do to give it a true feel... but till they bring the klingon empire into play for pvp etc we still clueless about pvp etc

release date is out and its 5th of feb 2010 (2nd in US) can pre order on some yank sites i think im gonna wait till they become available in uk shops tho am gettin the collectors edition and i cant find anyone who does pre order for that yet

Though they only confirmed it a couple weeks ago on website.

alot of work still to do, and there some annoyances they announced like you need to get to "level 10" as a fed character before you can make a klingon character.. . . . Shouts as "cant be bothered to make a klingon tutorial"

Oh... and dont help that after the CO release day patch chaos they still only doing 2 beta sessions a week, of 3hrs long.

6hrs testing a week isnt enough imo, especially split across 2 sessions (dont help that one them is 1am-4am UK time )

we dont know yet. afaik they dont make that available on beta tests. atleast they didnt in CO when that was being beta tested.

not even sure you can get to max "level" either.

im soloing through the beta. after about 15hrs of beta im only about lvl 7, lol.
So no idea about end game

Just want to get me a nice escort ship so i can blow the crap out of the enemy quicker then in my beginner ship

Finally got past lvl 10. Game went down though when was on the way to the Earth Spacestation. When i get there I get to get me a new ship... so will get myself a nice Escort ship which be nicely armed... got lots of disrupters ready to place on it

They dont care if you mention you are in the beta.

the things that I am mentioning are publicly known as well.

ie lvl 10 = new ship. public known. (in an interview
klingons not available till you played for awhile = public known (in an interview)
you can select one of 3 type of ships = public known

but hey moan at me if want.

got lvl 10 for no reason.. all my progress and equipment are about to be wiped and i had collected some great weapons that couldnt use till i got my escort

i was talking to the others and not you

they learnt from CO it seems.. they got extended playtests going on this week so it probably a sign of things to come. Massive patch as well and being given access to a lot more areas.

bad point, character wipe so start from scratch and dont get to play with new ship. . . but will get it this weekend as i cant be arsed to go out

starter ship rocks tho, can with a bit of work solo a +4 klingon battleship

screw up just a little bit and your toast tho

tho i'm VERY impressed with the grafic engine in this game, its nowhere near as laggy as in CO.

lol aye, the starter ship is good if you keep them hitting one shield and rerouting power. But it a long old fight. lol.

Seems they bugged torpedoes now and high yeild = less damage. Which is annoying. Im using 2 disrupters instead

well, high yield does more damage still tho, usually get 500 more damage those 2 combined then i get from the normal one.


i just really really REALLY hope they fix the merit rewards for mission completion tho. have 900 merits at lvl 6 and a new ship cost 50.000 >.<

1v1 yes its boring unless you go up against a +5 or tougher battle ship, but ANY games 1v1 are boring so thats no surprise

what i find fun is to go up against a vastly overpowered ship and still manage to grind it dead

you REALLY have to pay attention to your shields because if they drop to much on one side you wont have time to turn around to face with a fresh one untill your dead

The digital deluxe version is great... only problem is that it costs about 2.5 times more then ordering the normal version as it available for 18£ from various places.

I got my purchase placed on amazon for the time being. The reason for this is I am hoping that they will have the Borg Officer. It one the only pre-order bonuses that worth keeping throughout your game and not just for the start of the game. But amazon UK not sure what their bonus is, lol. They going to the distributor to check as a few of us hassled them to put up their preorder bonuses on the site.

If they not got the borg then I probably cancel it and pick the Digital Deluxe, unless news of an EU collectors edition comes out that more in line with the CE of the US.
