How so? You don't have to use it?

well, no you don't HAVE to play on the higher difficulties, but those that do are forced to deal with the injury system aswell.

so if you don't like that part you don't have any other options then to play the ghetto version.

i wanted increased difficulty as much as the next guy, and "whined" about that alot on the official forums. i just absolutely hate death "penalties" because they aren't penalties.

so now its either play the cheesy ghetto game that is boring as fuck or increase the difficulty and get incredibly annoyed at the injury system that serves no purpose other then to piss ppl off.

Have to agree here, Cryptic have again humped the bunk.....yet again.

STO just can't catch a break and consistently goes from bad to worse at the moment, can't believe the incompetence of a mmo development team when they produce relatively pointless fluff in updates....all the damn time.... when the game still has serious fundimental problems which they consistently fail to address.

I STILL live in hope they will fix this game and i can return and play without getting frustrated with the total lack of any significant developmental progress and the total waste of an IP with stellar potential.

yeah. i to have some hope still for this game. but its looking more and more like its gonna end up the same as WAR and AoC.

both of those games also had immense potential.

think the biggest issue STO has atm is the devs idiocy of pumping out useless stuff on the C-store instead of adding proper content to the klingons so they dont have to only pvp to level up.

Even I am starting to get annoyed with the game, they really need to do something with ground missions. I can see the hope for the game, but I don't think I will be renewing at the end of 6 months unless they do something really good.

doubt that will happen, they are apparently already working towards releasing a third playable faction.

so forget klingon pve content or any major improvement on federation pve other then half assed endgame "raid" missions...

so i have no hopes for klingons to ever get fixed, and whatever new faction they release will most likely be just as broken as klingons.

It seems fed vs Klingon Hardly ever happens, its usually Fed vs Fed or Kling vs Kling. Now they are asking people to vote on a new faction, which is all well and good but I think they should polish the game they got not add new things, no one wants yet.

Recently got back into it again, just to finish the story quests, still hate ground combat, but even with the nerfed VM I am still doing well against PvE and ok in PvP starting to use the Tachyon Rift more and its paying off.

kvk doesent happen either..

usually i spend an hour or two in the random game queue with maybe 3 other ppl queued before a game starts, it ends afyer 10 minutes and then its back to two or more hours in queue...

It's becoming increasingly clear that the games population is dwindling, less players means longer queueing times for the instances as, lets face it, there is not much else to do (well, nothing remotely interresting) except pvp in instances once you have gobbled up all the "content".

Well I've been holding off trying this game out mainly because of the well-publicised lack of content. I'd like to play but have no intention unless some kind of decent longevity.

A further turn-off is the increasing number of players reporting that its Fed v Fed or Klingon v Klingon PvP for the most part and I can't be bothered with that WoW-style arena shit.

I'll continue to hold off as it doesn't even look like the content patches have delivered much, though I confess I've only done superficial reading on this.

no your more or less right.

the "content" patches has mostly consisted of fixing long term bugs or added some questionable end game (which isn't truly end game as they have yet to open up the last 5 levels) missions.

what little actual content they have added have mostly been cut and paste stuff from federation side to use as a "placeholder" on klingon so they get atleast alittle pve...

what chuffs me the most is their inability to realize that C-store items will NOT keep people playing, so adding more wont help them.

i read their latest engineering report and there was almost just as much C-store shit getting implemented as anything else in total.

and out of all the text, TWO fucking line mentioned klingons, of which one was fluff costume options....

and klingon episodes wont happen untill july somewhere (probably at the very end).

Cryptic are wasting thousands upon thousands of hours on useless C-store shit when half their game is in such desperate need of a fun factor its embarrassing...

i mean, how the hell are they thinking? ARE they thinking at all?

isnt anyone here working for one of them sites that do them QA sessions every now and then and can actually ask some important questions? :/

like why C-store items have a higher priority then klingon gamepley?

Yeah I do agree with that, I have no interest in the C-store items tbh. I just started a Klingon character the other week and tbh, I went back to my Fed guy out of pure boredom.

Star Trek Online

weekly episodes sounds interesting, but the fact that they wont be exclusive to any side just proves they don't have time and/or money to do it properly.

so i'm not THAT exited about playing those episodes on my fed just to log on my klingon and do them all over again...

and his hint that klingons and feds could maybe work together on those episodes (if we really wanted to) really piss me off. were supposed to be at war with each other here....

but yeah, i suppose i can do those episodes with feds IF i can chose to kill them whenever i see fit.

Looks like the future is shaping up well for STO but tbh I am having trouble caring, I am finding it harder and harder to push myself to play it. Might join a fleet and see if that brings me back in.

yeah it might end up a decent game. but it sounded promising before it was released to...

so i still don't quite trust them...

Precisely, talk is cheap and this lot have a track record of talking a good game, but not delivering.

fun of the day..

decided to cancel my account yesterday after playing again for ~5 days (but obviously did not pick the "terminate now and lose remaining playtime" option).

tried logging on today and the fuckers terminated it anyway :D
