spellcrafting bug?

i just got my new shield spellcrafted and was happy as a little kobold can be. cool name and everything on it.

went down to the enchanter to enchant it.. then when i ran up to the guild emblemer to emblem it i noticed it had lost it's cool name and was named reinforced small shield again.

i want my cool name back!!

ps. same thing happent after i got my staff loaded with charge..

Well, when I had my Gladius SC'ed at first it was Perforator Shimerring Arcanium Gladius, then when I zoned it changed to Shining Arcanium Gladius Perforator. Maybe that's what happened to your shield?. A few people have mentioned strange bugs with SC'ed item names.

SC names are a bit weird.. seems to be connected to the first gem you put in (Thrustbender suggests you put a thrust resist gem in the top slot.. I think) It changes the names about a bit when you zone (generally tidies them up, I've made a "Thunderer Thunderer Thunderer Oaken Shod Staff" (naming guy had a stutter or something?...) which became just a "Thunderer Oaken Shod Staff" after the happy recipient zoned (one of my favourite named items I've produced so far I think). It does the same to the gems you produce.. "Heated Battle Jewel" becomes a "Lifetaker Heated Battle Jewel" after you zone/relog (and a weapon imbued with this gem in the top slot would be a "Lifetaker whatever".. I think. Although it might also be related to some notion of the "most powerful" gem you put in.. I've not really tested it much, been too busy pressing "buy" at the merchants....

The first item I imbued was a steel scimitar, which got the name Mighty Mighty Mighty Mighty steel scimitar. After a log the name changed to just Mighty steel scimitar. I must say I was kind of dissapointed to see that, even though the first name was overselling the sword a little bit...

mine went from Sturdy Sturdy shimmernig arcanite great falcata to shimmeringarcanite Sundering great falcata

(yes they removed the space between shimmering and arcanite for some reason too )

still I don't mind it's silly name changing, what I dislike is the fact the SCer doesn't get their name on the item like the WCer does.. s'not fair!!

oh and fyi 44 parry on a luri champ is deadly.. got cernos lvl 50 hero to 2% life before he got past parries SC so fun hehe!!

Must be the same as the naming in the frontier dungeons then.

We got a Thrustbender Towershield (+12STR +14HP +5Energy +9Thrust) and a Blocking Short Sword (+3 Shield +3Sword +9STR +5Energy) dropping for us in Marfach on Camlann yesterday. We has a few more but can't remember the names :/

As was pointed out on the tradeskill boards, that would be hard to do. e.g. a piece of armour is made by up to:
1 tailor
1 armoursmith
4 spellcrafters
1 alchemist
1 spellcrafter (for enchanting)

They could have:

Base Crafted by:
Tailor
Crafted by:
armourer
Imbued by:
spellcrafter1
spellcrafter2
spellcrafter3
spellcrafter4
alchemist1
Enchanted by:
spellcrafter5

Probably what they would have to do would be only allow one spellcrafter's name (first to imbue it with gems) and maybe put the list of crafters at the end. as even with only one spellcrafter it would take up most of the first page of the delve.

Alternatively you could put the name of the spellcrafter (still probably only 1 name) with the stats and the name of the alchemist with the proc.
