Anyone got multiple isps and want to know how they compare for speed or how fast your 56k really is visit here .

Quite a differance as you can see .

I think you can lock ISDN to two speeds So you can get either of those connection speeds. Check in your ISDN setup. 2 different speeds.

Both set for 64k data and all settings are the same only differance is isp .
I have multiple isp accounts and all are set the same way in dial up properties but run at different speeds .
BT is the worst of the lot though .

er also it depends how much bandwith your isp has going to the states! that site is based in the states.

what would be a good way of showing, would be to put that thing up on barrysworld.

im on a 2mb line here, and its saying i rate between 100kbs to 500 kbs!

also it depends on the time of day u use it and how busy it is going over accross the pond. so unless we can compare the isps.

i.e demon has 45mbit line to states
bt has 5mbit (ok feels like .5 at times) etc etc and put that into some sort of order these things are pretty useless.

still intresting and passed the last 2 mins of my life (inc writing this drivel)

hehe i wana be controversial ......

personally i find bt free very quick when iam downloading....artwork.

i saw the link awhile ago and used it on most of the isp's i use and bt came top (interestingly claranet was bottom < 4.5k! even though they supplied excelent pings in q3) with ~8k.

remember a sinlge isdn line is only 64k so anything over that is due to compression ... u whiners HAVE enabled it HAVENT U ?
