BBC News - China row over synchronised goldfish magic trick

Quite amusing to watch, I can understand how they think he might be using magnets but I am not convinced by the arguement. Anyone got an idea of how he is doing it?

As to how its done:

1. Fake fish?

2. Magnets with each goldfish having a lump of ferrous metal inserted (ouch).

3. near invisible lines like fishing line towing them around.

Edit - my moneys on 1 as they swim too much in time with each other.
