You'd be flattened as if there were no portals there. Good brain teaser though :D.

Great game, completed it a few days ago and really enjoyed it. It's re-kindled my love of SP gaming. From the story arc to the voice acting to the test chambers and beyond, really a fantastic game.

No, you'd squash into yourself.
That's what I was saying, the result is the same as if the portals weren't there and you were being flattened by two walls. You'd end up squished.

Just finished Portal2 after playing through both 1 and 2 a bit at a time with my kids (13 and 10) doing most of the puzzle solving and reallly enjoyed both games.

Just excellent on all levels really, the voices, the puzzles, everything

10/10

:worthy:

Just finished it!

Fuck off - I've got a job :)

Excellent all round. Merchant was great. Lots to love about the ending. Proper game.

Y'see. It is possible with a little originality and good writing :)

I got Portal 2 cheap on the Steam sale and just started it. Can't believe how positive everyone is about it.

I've got to the first few puzzles with the bouncy liquid and I can't help thinking that there just wasn't enough to the portal mechanic to make a 2nd, larger game based on it. At least Portal was a little bit of a challenge because it was a new idea. Now you already know how to use portals and momentum and stuff... meh.

Valve obviously wanted Glados to be funny but she just isn't. Stephen Merchant is the one good thing about the game so far.

Plus, I don't know how Valve gets away with a loading screen between every chamber in this day and age. Their engine is so awfully far behind if they can't even stream new levels in.

I'd imagine the loading is a knock on from the console versions.

I didn't actually think Merchant was that funny, I thought the repeated suggestions that Chell was fat were far more humorous.

I did however think that it was clever as a mechanic to chuck you back where you started in Portal.

I thought Merchant was funny, not so much for what he said (although his script definitely had it's moments) but more for just the way he delivers lines.

Also; in my highly controlled experiments I found it wasn't as accessible as the first one for children. I showed Portal to a 10 year old last year and he was instantly engrossed but with Portal 2 this year, he got bored very quickly and wanted to play more World of Goo. It's scientific, I know.

Almost done with it now and it actually gets worse :| the "old Aperture" area just dragged. The liquid puzzles aren't that fun.

I thought the game was much easier than P1 because we'd already learned how to solve portal problems in the previous game, but now I see another issue making it too easy. Valve, for whatever reason, have severely limited the locations where portals can be placed. This means it's usually just a case of surveying the areas that can take a portal and going from there. Kinda lame.

I will not be fooled by hype if they make Portal 3.
