Right so me and the Gf went to visit some old aquaintences for a picnic lunch
today, And all went fine and dandy until the discussion fell on meat ect,
and well one thing lead to another and we somehow ended on animal emotions/awareness mostly on beef "cows" pork "piggies" and KFC aka "chicken

so the discussion went something like this:

Him: You do know animals "cows" have complex and structured emotions?
Me: you mean can have ?
Him: yeah you know what the hell I mean!
Me: Ye was just pointing out...
Him: Anyway, answer the question
Me: Well Maybe? havent thought much about it tbh
Him: well they do you know?
Me: Ok? well I still dont have any moral quarrals about eating them, even if they did have feelings prior to beefification. "yes I used that word"
Him: so you dont care that you murder an animal with complex emotional capabilities just for food when you can get the same needed nutresion from other sorces ?
Me: Nope, not really no, but i do respec your right to choose not to eat meat, so why cant you respec my choice ?
Him: I have no respec for murderers!

At this point the guy flips and well basicly throws us out ;)

Hmh.

Why do the veggieburgers always think it's about nutrition.

I don't eat soymeat as opposed to a lean mean cowslice, because the cow tastes GOOD.

what about all the cows who cant live because these vegans choose not to buy meat, and so lower demand?

Never try to argue using reason with a crazzzy person!

The correct answer is that the cow can only go to cow heaven if it fulfills it's life long dream of ending up as a sunday roast, in the Ribena adverty styleee.

You should have said you believe vegetables have a right to live too

Agree with Golena. Trying to rationalise with a die-hard vegetarian or a born-again spread-the-word-of-the-Lord Christian is like projectile vomiting in the wind

that guy is pretty fucked up
I've got a lot of vegan and vegetarian friends and none of them despise meat eaters, its purely a personal choice, and they dont ever frown upon people eating meat or eating meat around them, so quite an extreme case

aye,
and well it's odd but only ever discussions I've truelly had on the subject "or rather disagreements" have been with vagans, not vegitarians.
But then actually in many retrospecs you can easily draw similarities to religion or rather reliouse beliefs.

He truelly strongly feels in his beliefs, and well i respect that, my problem, as with religion is, when i fell that someone attempts to superimpose tho's beliefs on me.

Go around his house and murder some cows. See what he does then ! :D

You could do it with Fluffy toy cows if you can't find live ones. It'll probably cause the same effect.

Is he a new vegan? From my experience they start off all preachy and then grow up and develop some tolerance.

Sister is a vegan and started pulling faces at the grocery store when I bought some meat but soon stopped it when I threatened to start doing the same over her smoking.

You should explain to him the wrongs of using biodiesel. On a par or worse than eating meat, for sure.

Have to say, the guy needs a dictionary 'cause someone claiming others as murderers because cows have "complex thought patterns" is f*cking ironic :D
