BBC weather forecast is pissing me off now, been saying all day than the lowest temp here would be -8c at 2am tomorrow, it is already -9c right now and falling. Just checked the MET Office website and the are saying it could fall as low as -20c, how the fuck can the BBC data by so out of whack with the UK weather people?

Different sources for grid data?

The Met Office provide a number of media outlets (including the BBC) with weather forecasts. Accuweather use their own data set and methodology and so come up with different forecasts for the same location.
Metcheck.com also use a different model.

The nice thing is that Metcheck tell you which grid model and run they're using.

Makes a bit more sense but the bloody BBC numbers are still wildly inaccurate. :/

That metcheck site rocks btw, thanks and thier numbers are 100% spot on, -13c outside my place when I checked 5 mins ago.

I live in the hills in west Wales - the village is well known for having magnified crappy weather when everywhere else is bad. This time?? About 3 inches of snow throughout this whole period - and this is when coastal areas in Wales are getting feet, not inches.

I wanted to feel proper Christmassy this year and the weather has denied me. Sod the weather.

Not where it counts

People are moaning about how cold it is. Minus 20 isn't THAT cold. Its nippy. And having one snow plough and a large Tonka toy to keep one of the worlds busiest airports open just doesn't cut the mustard. Thats why this country falls to pieces in the winter and the rest of northern Europe just shrugs their shoulders, laughs, and goes "yeah, and?"
