Darwin Award candidate there. :)

I drove 100 miles to Newtown yesterday with pretty white snow on each side of the road. No trouble, roads clear. My next call was in Caernarfon and satnav told me to go through the middle of Snowdonia... with the snow forecast, F*** that!
I took the major A roads and it was clear all the way. Then I got just past Abergele and there were light flurries. By the time I got to Colwyn Bay it was coming down thick and fast with traffic down to 10-15mph and following in each other's tracks. Then local radio said that the A55 was shut west of Llanfairfechan due to conditions and a jack-knifed lorry, so that screwed my chances of getting to my call.

My boss' reaction was "Can you try pushing on anyway?"

I had to politely tell him that visibility was less than 5m, snow was accumulating on the road itself, the local radio said that the road ahead was closed and if I didn't turn around I wouldn't even make it home.
He graciously let me finish early. :)

I only just got up the hill to get home.

And another 6" came down in the night wiping out all trace of the path I'd cleared to the car.
I ventured out about 4pm to get the main shopping in.
Getting back up the hill afterward was tense but I did it. :)

She isn't out collecting tomorrow, the snow is 4in deep in Bournemouth and she doesn't enjoy cold wet knickers.

I don't enjoy cold wet anything that isn't alcoholic, and you just leave my knickers out of it!!

I shall refrain from making a very dirty retort because I'm classy see, and it would be beneath me to say something like 'who says I'm wearing any' or 'they are anything but cold baby!' because that would just be far too filthy for me.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to return my elf outfit before Kenny Baker realises I pinched it.

Rotten cock syndrome? You don't have a cock so don't worry, sleeping with baconboy afterwards could get nasty though. DO IT! :D

i cleared my balcony last night, theres something intensely amusing about flinging shovel loads of snow from the 6th floor of a building, bwuahahaha

i have a pic of a buried car from about 2 weeks ago where you could still see it, took another pic yesterday and all you can see is the side mirror, will post later tonight :)

all the snow/ice/slippery shit on the ground is getting annoying now

Summer can't come quick enough. Roll on 30°C, long summer days, sitting outside enjoying a cold beer watching women in short skirts walk by

Yeah its taking the piss now. To get out of the village I have to drive a mile on sheet ice, up hill, there are only two roads out of the village. One road leads into more countryside and the other leads to the dual carriageway towards town, they haven't bothered gritting it as they are "running out of grit" (They actually used it all months ago when we had a hint of frost in the air) fucking amateurs.

If I don't have my Land Rover Defender by winter next year I think I will be getting snow tyres, can't rely on the idiot council to keep the roads clear.

A little piece of info for you thinking about snow chains for your cars.
Halfords are basically out of stock, and even then they only get so many from one manufacturer.
Most car and auto places get the same chains from the same manufacturer in the UK. Good luck if you want some. :)

if the attached shows the effort put into clearing heathrow its pretty pathetic looking!

1 shovel, 2 people, not gonna help much! (i know they probably have lots of other stuff but this picture looked so pathetic i had to post it :p )

also anyone noticed that a few weeks ago BAA had spent "over £500,000" on anti-snow technology, but now this weekend its "around £6 million" o_O

it's called good weather and the UK will never have it. NEVAR!!!

maybe not in winter, i was working in a chippy many moons ago in the south-east when temp hit 36 degrees C, standing in front of a deep fat fryer all day was nicht fun! :flame:

but the usual excuses are paraded about, its the wrong kind of snow, its too fluffy, not fluffy enough, its wet, the pope shits in the woods... etc
