My reasoning for not quitting smoking is simply that i enjoy it. Hard to explain really, but thats the way it is. I quit each time i've been pregnant, midwife got me to blow smoke on a piece of cotton wool, look at the goo on it, and imagine that going into baby's system.. huzzah no smoking for baby.
I understand that smoking shortens your life, causes cancer etc, however my mother smoked for 30 years and was a heavy drinker, she died aged 47 after falling down stairs in middle of the night, if she hadn't smoked or drank all her life she'd still have died, so for now i'm happy to carry on like a chimney. Well done to the guys that are quitting though, i know how hard it is so keep it up etc
