It's 106" and I run at the max capable of the projector: 720p.

106 inches /drool :D

Would love something that size and 1080p but I don't have that kind of money... YET! ;) :D

does it have different settings for tv/dvd(movie)/games or something Tremzor? my monitor does and the results are very different. I know a monitor is not a tv but it may help to check?

This is the best display on what is happening -

This is on the dvd screen saver, you can see where the image was the 4 times before.

Also if I stop a movie and it goes to the Oppo screen which is blue you can see the outline of what was showing before I stopped it, can't get a good pic of that though.

After 5 minutes -

I'm getting it sent back. Thank christ I used Amazon rather than an obscure site. I have asked for a refund.

I absolutely love the telly and the picture is stunning but I don't want to risk getting another that does the same thing.

So I guess I need ideas for a new telly :(

Hi Trem

I'd second that; that's definitely unacceptable. I know it can be a pain to arrange these things, but it's definitely worth returning whilst you can. Good luck!

Kind regards

Jonty

Edit: Ah, that's good Trem. Happy shopping :)

The Panny px70 series have good write ups .. not sure on the price comparison from what you paid for the previous one though. I know they have come down a bit from what i paid for my px60 though :)

I always think plasma is better than LCD at higher screen sizes .. up to 32 LCD is ok over it plasma all the way :)

I now totally agree with you. My mate has a Pioneer plasma and that is awesome but only 1080i. The Sharp is fantastic while watching a film but this whole incident has totally jaded me as regards Sharp.

I got my yearly interest this week so I have just been out and ordered a Panasonic TH42PZ700B they are true 1080p with 3 HDMI inputs as well.

3 weeks until I get it though.

I did love the Sharp :(

I saw a lovely 32" Sony job in Hanley yesterday. I was the other side of the Potteries from Dixons but could still see just how good the colours were.

I heart Sony TV's....

Which is why I've currently got a Philips one! I've rearranged everything and am super stoked as my front room looks better and there's more space in it! I'llt ake pics when I find a camera, in the meantime I'm going to start on the rest of the flat!

Christ I need to get back to work. I'm turning into Lawrence Llewlyn Bown :(

Found it for £1750 online and my local Apollo 2000 matched the price.

I haven't seen it running either, but I will just take it back if I aren't happy. I aren't normally like this but the whole room has been for the telly, I have waited ages to get a big telly on the fireplace :(

I would have given my left nut for a piece of kit like that back in 1999. I used to use my old P120 with a TV-Card, a 20 meter length of Coax and a decoder box for the cable to get all the porn free.

I then used a copy of Dragon Dictating and a Microphone as the remote control for the TV.

I spent an entire year saying "Goodnight Susan" to my computer.

It may, or may not, have done serious damage ;)

Oh and Trem, you're only 5 years older than me, so I suppose it's ok for me to have those slippers now ;)

Wow I thought you were a young whipper snapper. Actually these slippers are the best I have ever had, I have chased birds in these and they can handle that.

G - fucking LOVE my projector still, the novelty never fucking wears off. You say yours is a 60" screen or was that a typo. Reason I ask is from that picture it doesn't look much smaller than mine, and mines 106".

Nope deffo about 60" diagonal, it could have been bigger but due to the limit of ceiling height versus the offset beam throw of the Themescene HD72i, that was the maximum size I could have given the distance from screen to projector.

I could have zoomed the picture bigger, but the picture would be too "low" down and my screen would have been too low or shone onto my chest of drawers that you can see. Besides that 60" is perfect for the viewing distance.

I will post a pic of HD footage for Clown to spasm in his pants.

That's high def (720p) footage; you'll need to take my word for it that the picture is fantastic and the colour depth and richness is awesome - still camera pics really don't do it justice. I couldn't really ask for better, I can't see it being any better. From what I hear, 1080p is like "looking through a window".

Oh god. Fuck off. I bought a projector last time and, even though I could afford it, I didn't really have the space ;)
