It's been a long time since i have had to wear a proper pair of shoes, but this has been a fairly actove year in terms of having to wear them.

I have forever opted for the lace-up style shoes, but i have noticed a lot of people going for the slip on style shoes.

I never really considered them before, are they just as comfy as standard lace-up ones?

Can't say i have really worn these styles since i was about 7-8 years old... They never seemed like grown up shoes!

Top ones for me, defo. I like slip-on shoes, for formal occasions I think they just look more tidy and elegant plus they are often more comfortable to wear for long periods.

Yes, slip-ons can be extremely comfy. I've got a couple of pairs of classic Gucci loafers, both of them are the most comfortable shoes I've ever bought, and they look great. Also got some nice lace ups. Got a lovely pair from Marks & Spencer (don't laugh).

Go for comfort first tho.

slip on shoes are awesome, the velcro one above looks like something a 13 year old school kid might wear :p

top ones are more formal for serious meetings, I like sport shoes with velcro, but those shoes can be nice for some events, however i preffer other models in that case, like these down below (or similar)

Well then you'll just have to put hover boots on your hands too and one on your head and your butt so you'll always be air cushioned in all directions. :)

You seen Cher in the new Burlesque movie? She must have put her face in a bucket of the stuff for the last 5 years!

I used to solely (arf arf) wear lace up shoes, but have switched to slip-ons and if you get quality - as people have said, M&S, Clarks etc. then the backs won't wear and go all floppy and they should keep their good shape.

slip on shoes are awesome, the velcro one above looks like something a 13 year old school kid might wear :p

Bang on, as a teacher I can verify that statement about the bottom shoes; kiddie stuff. Avoid. :twak:

tell that to the folks who spend £200 on these Guccis velcro numbers

g-mono-dvelc-bl-2.jpg

Send them my way and I will. That said - I assumed we were talking about a work/school environment. I don't have a problem with them as casual wear etc. because people aren't trying to look formal however I can imagine they cost no more to make than a primark pair, even with embossed leather. What a shock to see Gucci hideously overpriced.

And (this is my POV of course) they do still look shit.

hehe I have velcro on my work boots and I love undoing the straps when someone bends over and watching them shoot up and check to see if they've ripped the arse out of their trousers...little things amuse me.
