Scariest Game of All Time

We've had a best game of all time thread so why not have a scariest game thread?

Mine would have to be Pacman, a huge mouth floating around eating everything in sight while being chased by multi-coloured ghosts and eating them too once it ate a power-up. I had many sleepness nights after playing that one...

So anyway, post what you think is the scariest of all time here. It can be any game you've ever played, as long as it's a computer game and you are serious about it. Yes, I was serious about mine.

Aliens Vs. Predator 2!!

Played in the dark, as a marine, on a huge 21" monitor.

~motion detector beeps~

~look down corridors...can't see anything~

~turn around to look behind me~

SHIII-ARRGH!!

~sounds of screaming and pulse rifle fire~

Totally fucking sweet! :D

Please don't let this turn into a spam thread either. Can we have one non-spam thread on OT? Come on, Coim. There must be one game that has at least made you jump, and I seriously doubt that it was Mario. :p

Not really, Resident Evil 2 is probably the closest I've come to being scared whilst playing a computer game.

Anyone remember the corridor on Resident Evil 1 where the doberman bursts through the window? I fell out of my chair on that one. (I was playing in the dark at night with windows open etc. to add to the atmosphere, very scary)

Bit like that on Resident Evil 2. Walking down a corridor, and this thing jumps down on you from the ceiling.

Oh yeah, the licker. They used to ummm... lick... stuff...

Never really got into RE2 though, I couldn't stand that Leon guy. He just doesn't compare to Chris.

It was this one game,cant remember its name,where I runned with my scout all alone stealthed in green grassy hills and suddenly out of no-where midgets and hairy men jumped at me while wearing black leather and swinging axes and swords ~.~

Oh wait..

Silent Hill!

Yes! Silent Hill series!
I've played 1 through 3 and I've got to say if you havn't played them you simply have to! Of course you must own a Playstation 2, but it's worth it just to buy SH!
Silent Hill one was probably the scariest, when playing it after you get to the school part I really wasn't expecting it to be that type of game, I though it would be like Resident Evil, and RE isn't scary at all, kinda funny, no surpirses, you can see it all coming. Me and my sister would actually play Silent Hill together because we were so scared to play it alone :p I was around 13 at the time or something.
Silent Hill 2 I managed to finish myself, it wasn't nowhere as scary as the first though.
Now Silent Hill 3! Jesus Crist! That is one hell of a game! Some parts in the game seriously made me want to puke, they were THAT disturbing! Although the game always made you carry on playing at the same time, to find out what those strange noises were or what lurked behind the next corner. It's pure classic when you'll be walking around a room searching for items or equipment and you'll hear a huge scream let out from nowere, it just scares you sooo much! I had to save and quit the first time that happend because I was so terrified :( Always played it at night around 10pm, wasn't worth playing it at any other time.
If any of you havn't tried it and have access to a PS2 then your insane!! Buy it! You won't regret it!

Roll on Silent Hill 4!

Why did Harry have to die? :(

Played a demo of SH1 a long time ago for the PS, didn't seem like much of a game to me, just lots of crazy shit happening with blood everywhere. If I wanted that I'd go watch a Manga film.

play the whole game, its excellent - both story and action-wise.

Never did like the controls when i played the demo of SH1 and SH3 so didnt bother playing the full games :x

No games ever scared me, RE1 made me jump thats about it really.

Maybe clocktower with the guy holding big scissors :p
