Alien vs. predator, in the dark, headphones on and not being able to see the monsters until they jump at you in the dark. Fantastic game, made me jump a few times

Only played abit of Alien vs Predator before (number 2)... it was cool really liked it... but it was at a LAN with about 10-15 other people. When my comp gets fixed i'm gonna buy it tho

This is true, in no other game does an exploding computer make you completely forget your ammo conservation training and empty 2 clips of solid-state into a poster and a bundle of cables.

Deus Ex is also scary (dunno if anyone's caugt on yet, but I like Dues Ex). That sound that greazels make, you know it's a greasel, you know you can kill it, you keep telling your self, "it's a small green chicken, it's a small green chicken" but still every time you run round the corner lose your bottle and start hurling the HE shells like confetti. Also the bits with water, especially the Hong Kong cannals set off my hydrophobia. I actually kicked my comp off at the wall one time because I was about to drown and the water was cold. That game seems so real.

Deus Ex is one of the best games i've ever played. Great story and everything seems so fucking real

Half Life made me jump a bit too, mobs jumping on u on every corner. Specially in the first and last levels. U feel so alone down there will all those monsters around.

And ofc, System Shock 2 (and I) it's damn scary

Same how I must have pulled the headphone chords out and not noticed it beeing so ingrosed in the game.
My speakers blasting gunshots woke my mum up, she came into my room without me ever noticing tapped me on the shoulder and i basicly ran over her with my office chair from fright

RE 3 for me.

Watched Predator ( the movie : very bloody) and than played RE 3 in the dark at about 11pm. Had troubling sitting down and not putting on the lights with the intro movie (very nice) and with the Nemesis guy. When i decided i had enough or else i wouldn't sleep ( ) i still to put my dog in it's cage , which is in the back of the ( rather big ) garden. Thought there were monsters and zombies behind every bush , was constantly looking around me and all . Scary Shit

but for pure heart renching terror all the way through it has to be AVP series... i had to rest after every level to compose myself

to think about it ... i dont even think i was enjoying it.. such stlong torture on heart

SS2 was scary as hell. Clive Barkers Undying also very unpleasant in places. AvP I agree, nerf motion detectors and dark corridors, but the most scary game ever... BARBIES UNDERSEA ADVENTURES.

Never really been scared in a game, however Clive Barkers Undying certainly made me feel uneasy when playing late at night with headphones on in the dark. The scene when some hell hound burst through some windows in an arboritum nearly gave me a coronary.
