The market determines the price of these tickets.

No it's the black market traders who determines the prices after the tickets at the official vendors have sold out. The "market" will just have to suck it up or not go.

That's why tickets at the official vendors have fixed prices depending on how good the seats are. And that's why you won't find 2 seats next to each other with a price difference even if one seat sold at the first minute and the other seat at the last minute.

You are arguing this like you think the black market traders are doing this for the good of the people...

That said, you do realize that you can't really complain that something is to expensive from here on out right? So i suggest you stop digging now... :)

Well this was a very enjoyable read. I'm sorry it was at your expense Damini, but I applaud your resilience and, I have to say, investigatory skills.

Reminded me a bit of Veronica Mars (uber guilty pleasure I had once :))

The black market traders can set whatever price they want so long as people continue to buy them. It really is that simple - don't like the price, don't buy.

If people simply refused to pay more than the ticket's face value then that would be an end to it.

Oh and I can complain about prices if I like. For instance, don't get me started on the inequities of council tax.

The problem is the ticket buying process isn't a level playing field; the more sophisticated touts are running scripts to snaffle up tickets from the official sellers within seconds of them becoming available, so joe public can't get a look in. This is why the likes of Ticketmaster are now starting to tie tickets to ID and then setting up their own reseller marketplaces to allow a customer to sell on a ticket, but only via them. It stops the touts, with the caveat that Ticketmaster are the biggest tout of all.

Would that be the ticketmaster who charge an electronic delivery fee?

Did I not say, "biggest touts of all"? However, just because Ticketmaster are a shower of bastards, doesn't mean additional layers of bastard between you and your goal is a good thing.

I would be torn between the subtle re-writing of his bio, to the overt drawing of a giant wang being shoved into his ear, with the words HOUSE!! splurging above it.

Ooooh, or replacing all his tracks with me just shouting "techno! techno! techno! techno!" over and over again while hitting a saucepan with a wooden spoon.

Spend $20 on domain+hosting for calvinainsworthisascammer.com?

Everytime future employer/girlfriend googles him they'd see the dumb shit he did and he might actually pay some consequences for his actions?

A mate of mine is an SEO guru with a crusading streak (you never want to get on the wrong side of this guy) who regularly manages to get "x organisation are twats" type messages ranked above their own sites. Maybe I should introduce you two. He used to occasionally post on BW back in the day so he might be up for it.

Interesting as someone is attempting to do this to our family business, he's completely in the wrong and we're taking legal action but still it's pretty prickish and if we win in court the guys gonna be fucked for the rest of his days.

Doubt he can even contest it on a fair footing really given the legal firm we've hired.

Hope it's not your friend :p

With one exception (who he managed to get on Watchdog), I've never really seen him go after any "family businesses"; he tends to have run-ins with corporates and certain government departments.
