Very good actually, it plain excels. Excellent climactic ending, and lots of back-story included in the film. Superb stuff, I can't wait for the extended edition DVD Boxset now.

It is a fantastic film, well worth it. I went to UGC cinema and there was no 15 minute break.
Although my friends (who haven't read the books) enjoyed it alot more than i did as the films do switch some stuff or blatantly ignore it. Won't say what.
Regardless, it's still fantastic and highly recommended. No doubt the trilogy will be one of the classics for generations to come.

well i thought the film was good none of it amazingly gr8 and alot of parts were over extended much like the ending i thought the film was going to end 20 mins early then it continued on and on 1 bit i didnt like though over all twas quite good.. the fighting scenes which was the reason i went really was excellent gr8 cgi :>

I thought it was visually excellent. Just a little lacking elsewhere. The ending was a farse imo.
I was certain there was gonna be a bit of hobbit 3-way at one point.

Yeah i think credit where credits due though, they're trying to follow 3 seperate (yet interlinked) plot lines at once and so the movie can seem to 'jump about a bit' like one minute it's a giant fuck off army marching towards Minas Tirith with booming drums etc. then it cuts to a quiet, tense scene of Frodo and Sam.
When i saw that army and the drums i thought 'get in, huge battle'

Saw it today and was resonably impressed, although the cinema i went to had a god damn 15 minute break.
Battle scene rocked, was also disapointed they didn't show merry and pippin taller even though you see them grow in extended two towers edition. Gollum was excellent.
Although the ending went on for soooooooo long.
On the whole a good ending to a great series. Although whats going to be special about next year without lord of the rings.
