I don't follow this. Why would you (presumably) associate pensions and pity?

TBH I love it when stuff like this happens, it shakes things up a bit. I'm looking forward to watching Jonathan Ross when he gets his show back just to see how it will go. Remember when Angus Deayton did that episode of have I got news for you after the papers published his story. There really is no negative publicity anymore.

I'm not too sure about that; Deayton suffered. He had been hosting the show for years, only to be cut loose from a fairly good, secure wage. He wasn't seen for a few months after, and only in the last year has he been making a comeback with "Hell's Kitchen" last summer and "Would I Lie To You?" He's not got the career or the respect he used to have largely thanks to the gap in his employment. He seems quite stale and predictable now.
