I had a feeling that'd happen, I was actually trying to lighten things by making a mildly 'humours' reflection of earlier comments as a form of irony. I don't pretend to be a 'decent bloke' or anything, I do realise I continue to live life with an extroadinary quantity of 'retard' characertistics and I also know that ppl want me to 'fuck off' so don't worry, I do get the message loud and clear. for me, I'm rather interested to see what he [and the others who say they feel like him, MT for example] intend to do about the situation they find themselves in. sitting back and waiting for someone else to solve the problem would be typical [of this forum].
I can understand the idea tho, as the thought "I didn't cause the problem ,wtf should I solve it?" is an easy thought to have. Thing is, if nobody gets off their collective arse, nothing will ever happen aiii. I think that although the 'serious threads" / "good discussions" are few, they are there, and shouldn't be ignored. It can't be that hard to start a few more now can it?
I'm sure the spamm0rs [myself included] know full well how to behave towards threads with 'ongoing' arguments in them.
The only thing I can not do anything about is the amount of retards jumping in to spout their stupidity.

Less of the 'my car is cool/your car sucks/my card is bigger than yours" things tho because imo they suck heh.

1) There is less spam than there used to be. When was the last time you saw me and Wij get it on in a thread? A good couple of weeks ago, at least.
2) MT, stop maoning about the posting of mindless spam, you're the worst offender of it all.
3) MT and Perp. Like others have said, you're sitting moaning about having nothing to talk about and get interested in on the boards any more. Well start a few threads, ask a few questions, help get things going a little bit. Push and pull, push and pull.

Personally, I think it's the segmentation of the forums. I can't just quickly scroll down and click on my fav forums. I have to go through about 3 or 4 links per fporum to get to them (general, help, newbies, broadband, hardware, quake2)

Is there any way of setting "favourite" forums in vB? So we can go straight to a page containing just the forums we wanna look at?

At the end of the day, I don't see the forums improving anytime soon. Certainly not with BW becoming more popular (sorry, but society is ridiculed with retards) ...
While the potential is clearly there for intelligent discussion, its not used, for whatever reason. Such is life.

Personally, I see the idea of creating intelligent threads as a task, because its unequivically (sic) hard to know whats going to proove popular and remain a well thought out discussion. Hence I've never been one for creating topics (probably countable on both hands, I suspect) .. its also hard to reach out to all the actual intellect on this board, without it falling down into somesort of terrible arguement (politics, for one?)

I can't even remember the point I was going to make. Forums - gone to pot.

Where you been last couple of days btw perp? not seen thou on IRC.

Can I just say before I get stamped on, there was a thread not so long ago, which offered intelligent coversation and debate on a latest topic sparked by the lovely Embattle. However looking at members who contributed to the conversation I see no sign of Perplex, MT or indeed Kez.
