Thankfully most release groups upload an nzb file along with the main data. All you need to do is find nzbs... it's how I found things when they stopped producing reports.

NZBmatrix.com has 20 days retention for free acounts, which is enough to pick up the latest ep of a TV show or something.
If you pay for a VIP account, you get much longer retention.

I have been using nzb matrix but it's not as good as newzbin was. But certainly very useful indeed.

It doesn't have everything on there so if you can't find something I also use nzbsrus as an alternative but its not wonderful either

Hi ex-Newzbin user.

Lamenting the departed site? Dreading doing Usenet the old skool way? Think the clone NZB sites suck?

Good news: we are Newzbin Two, and we have glad tidings:
NEWZBIN IS BACK! and we are the new management. The crew got most of the original Newzbin source code and the main databases.
We loved it too much to let it die.

The catch? We wont be up for a very short while cos things need to be done. For starters we need a cool domain name; also we need to hack on the code some more to make it run. We are nearly there but it is very complicated. We reckon we'll up very soon.

So don't drift off to those lame-ass wannabe NZB sites. Hang on for a little longer and the Big Dog will be back.

looks liek someone got hold of the code .. seems they wer right

And NewzBin2 had gone due to lack of interest and the pulling of payment providers...

Ah well...onwards and upwards!!

Well they got their ip blocked and all so no big surprise as they didn't get the proxy wave pirate bay does and their stand alone solution was quite pants.

Nzbmatrix still lives though.

NZBMatrix has been closed. This part leaves me worried "Also the Usenet Indexing scene is going through some changes, with content being removed from pretty much every provider its making the existence of an indexer irrelevant if the content does not even exists anymore." I don't want to have to go back to torrents :(

The End...

It is with our regret to announce that NZBMATRIX has closed.

We have had to make this decision due to a very large takedown request from a company called Wiggin LLC. These represent the following: Federation Against Copyright Theft Limited ("FACT"), Paramount Home Entertainment International Limited; Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Limited; The Walt Disney Company Limited; Twentieth Century Fox Film Company Limited; Universal Pictures (UK) Limited; Warner Bros. Entertainment UK Limited.

As everyone is aware we are DMCA/Takedown notice compliant, and always have been.
Once this notice is completed we are left with an impossible task of policing our indexing bots. Even then it won't stop there, there will be follow-up notices etc.

Coupled with this is problems with payment providers, we have been through pretty much everyone out there, in the end they all pull out.
There are massive server/bandwidth costs to pay, with the payments in-stability this is a very hard task.

NZBMATRIX has never been the subject of any legal issues or threats.

Also the Usenet Indexing scene is going through some changes, with content being removed from pretty much every provider its making the existence of an indexer irrelevant if the content does not even exists anymore.

So it's time for us to bow out...

Oh. This is not good news at all!

My newsgroup provider has a search engine download client but it's not as good as any of the above.

They've really started cracking down on this. Bit of a worry.

I hoping at some point there will be better digital distribution for TV series and Movies - like Spotify has done for music. If it was available, well done and affordable, I would gladly subscribe. Its what the big companies need to do to truly end this.

i would pay 10 quid a month or so to sub to a service but i would want 1080p dts or dd5.1 and to download it so i could play it when i want .. also would want then before or if not the same day as dvd / blu ray releases. and decent bandwidth .. i can go 10Mbit a sec download so i would want that or at least half that guaranteed

Agreed. That is the future - I don't know why the big companies haven't cashed in on it already and instead have just left LoveFilm and NetFlix to fuck about with it.

Not really. As one type of service is shutdown another new technology or three appears. Remember all the old P2P networks closing and why torrents exploded in use?

Until a legal download TV & Movie service exists that can provide as good an option for new releases there will always be digital piracy.

There are still the regular old usenet search engines. Indexers line nzbmatrix just made life a lot easier and allowed for automatic download systems.
The search engines are far from perfect but you still should be able to get the latest tv show episodes.
If that goes to shit too I guess it's back to private torrent sites and a seedbox to keep ratio up o_O

It's part of what the studios are doing with Ultraviolet. Buying a DVD or bluray enables you to watch or stream that film on a nbumber of devices. I've not got involved in it yet, but it sounds interesting.

As for the number of NZB sites shutting down, the alternative is to switch to minimalist usenet search engines and search for the nzb files uploaded with releases. Grab THAT nzb and you're going to be able to grab the collection.

I don't want the hardware. Why in this age do I need a DVD or blu ray to get triple play. Just let me pay for a service that lets me download to blu ray version watch t .. Keep it if I like or delete it as long as I sub.

Hmv's of this world are antiquated. And so I cinema IMO
