They are evil indeed. (Whats up with the reg btw?). Once you start to hate RIAA, its only a matter of time before you start reading up on the DMCA, Senetor Holdsworth's (guess) hacking bill, and all the other business-sponored goodness that goes on in the US.

Isn't democracy great?

The money hungry people at the RIAA / IFPI have made it very clear that they don't want us to host audio covers anymore. It’s all about money folks and although we are a profit free organization that runs on voluntary basis those scumbags don’t give up and want to shut us down through threatening our host.

(from cdcovers.cc)

they DONT WANT YOU TO COPY THEIR COVER ART, MAN

bet amazon's the next to go :|

Maybe HMV stores and the like on your high street won't be able to display CD's anymore, and you won't be able to sample before you buy.

They'll probably even eradicate music on radio/tv.

RIAA are pretty much running round trying to fist everyone including themselves up the arse

in all their figures they constantly splurt
they fail to mention that less ablumns have been released over the last couple of years
which wouldn't at all effect sales would it???
well according to them yes

I mean profit margins in every industry drop every now and then
it happens a little in the music industry and they have to run around trying to burn the mp3 witches
and they profits aren't really down an amount that can't be accounted for

if they were smart they'd push for lower cd prices
cheaper cds means less need for pirates
hell if is most cds wer $15-20 bucks id be much happier to buy them tan the 25-30 it costs now

basically RIAA are the biggest know conglomeration of retarded cunts in the world

"hey bob, i'm bored"
"me too steve, lets do something challenging... wanna try to destroy the mp3 format?"

tbh (heh) - I think they know that all that stuff they spurt about the decline in album sales being down to mp3s is bollocks. Most people (like me :)) have easy access to mp3s but would much rather have a CD and can't be arsed burning them because CD purchases tend to be impulse buys anyway. It's really a pre-emptive measure to stamp out piracy before we have PCs in the car and in walkmans etc when it will be just as easy and impulsive to dowload in one-click off Kazaa2008 whilst having a piss in the pub as it is to hand the CD to the HMV shop-assistant :)

Cheers yeah... If CD's were more that kind of price instead of £11.99-£15.99 I'd be more inclined to buy them... I'd be less worried about buying an album and finding 2 good tracks and a load of shite... which seems to happen so often

In britain album sales were up last year.

I guess thats because theres orginal artists here, and maybe we buy because of the music, not because of the face in front of it, or the ones trying to sell us

OVERHYPED COMMERCIAL SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm talking to you justin timberlake, britney spears, christina shaguilera, n-synch, the cheeky girls, girls aloud, the sound of the underground, will young, gareth gates, and all you other cunts who detract from the amount of real music that is available.

GO FUCKYOURSELVES UP THE ASS!!!!! ( sorry gareth gates and will young, who let other people do it ).

PS: I was going to make fun of gareth gates stutter, but tbh that would be blatantly unfair. Sorry for even thinking of that.

I couldn't read your link (I'm guessing it was a web site hack).. but in fact today there was an article stating that they have planted a "hydra" mp3 (thats hydra not amoeba :p) into the file sharing community that tracks the use of p2p software, reporting the ip addresses and illegal (copyright) software content of users. Apparently, 95% effective at detecting file sharers.

Now I call that purty naughty (and probably illegal)

<edit>

ignore that shit I just wrote...finally connected...and doh.....its the same atricle

I have a feeling that addaware...or even anti virus software should detect this after updates...after all its not something you want on your puter even if you dont infringe copyright.
