RA's what is the best spec to have.............

I am a 49 merc and i am wondering what would be the best to have........ but i proberly i have all the RA's that are the worst i could possible have for my class i was wondering what would be the best for my merc so i dont have to waste my last realm respec.............

afaik, only Sycho(Mattshanes) posts here regularly.

You might want to PM a few mercs ingame, like Maxgirth, Toxwan, Hendrick, Sousi... etc


Find out what each of them have and how effective it is. Then make a short list of the RA's that will help you.

Generally better to buy the most expensive RA's first, like IP.

First IP and FA 2.

Then go for determination lv1,follwed by aug dex 2, pain lv1,dualist reflexes lv1,master of parry lv1,avoidance of magic lv1,maybe get toughness lv1 adds about 40hp.

I got these plus a few more seem to do ok in rvr,it's melee and magic resists that are more worrying than ras:(

Also wait for prevent flight too so no sb lamers can run from you:D

Do not get purge get determination lv3 roughly or lv2 for now and wait til 1.53/54.

I don't have IP since my realm rank is still too low to get it. I went for augmented dex and str II, mastery of pain II, determination II and long wind (to catch those nasty people running away, pretty wasted though) and First Aid I. Since you have a realm respec or two, you can first just go and buy passive RAs like mastery of pain or mastery of parry etc. and then at RR3L4 do /respec realm and buy the full First Aid/Ignore Pain set. That's what I wanted to do, but I foolishly used my last /respec realm at RR3L0 and ended up like described above. Maybe someone else can clarify whether you still get these realm respecs now or whether that was a feature left over from the last patch?

In general, apart from IP (certainly worth it, though it's a stupid skill all by itself if you ask me, but since everyone has it, everyone needs it), I think
- mastery of pain
- mastery of parry
- dualists reflexes
- determination

are the ones to go for.

Hendrick, mercs and armsmen will get a realm respec in the next patch, because you will be able to buy IP/purge more cheaply then ;)

Isn't it only Armsmen, Hero and Warriors who get IP cheap?

If I'm not mistaken, they don't recieve and extra /respec, but if they already have IP, the additional realmpoints will be returned.

I thought light tanks got it also. (The RA costs listed on the camelot herald give mercs the same cost for purge/IP as armsmen)

Version 1.53 Release Notes


The following changes to realm abilities for Armsmen, Mercenaries, Heroes, Blademasters, Warriors and Berserkers have been made:

- Reduced cost of the Realm Ability Ignore Pain to 8 points.

- Reduced cost of the Realm Ability Determination to 1/2/3/6/10 points.

- Reduced cost of the Realm Ability Purge for these classes to 4 points.

- Added new passive Realm Ability "Prevent Flight" When active, if the tank's selected target turns and runs, the tank has a 35% chance of hitting and proccing a 50% snare for 10 seconds. Cost: 14 points.

All of these primary melee tanks will be able to respec their Realm abilities to take advantage of these changes.

Its great the the tanks/light tanks of each realm get this deserved loving. But i wonder why not the hybrids of each realm get some points off too. Since most of them are more tanks than casters. And thoose class specific RA's are for atleast thane utterly crap at that amount of points.

Well would not love us as much if we all capped our pie and got full aug acuity. And where like 10 of us at a mg, with a healer that stuns you as you run thru. That would hit you guys for about 10*50-300 damage per hit(Depends on resist and lvl :) ). So would be alot of dead albs. :)

Tried my ae with capped pie with a healer that stunned got a fg of alb down to 50% hits before the stun wore off.

Would be nice if we could ground target our hammers.

Well least with cheaper ra's we might actually see people rolling a different class other than a sb or an inf:D

IP is a must,I also have determination 2 atm, will add another level to that,then as we use 2 swords MoP has to be worth building up to a decent level, there is nothing more satisfying than having a 2 sword crit imho:)
