being kept awake half the night due to a combination of mosquito's in my room and a mouse dancing about. mice can make a surprising amount of noise given they're such tiny beasties

What kind of a 19th century tropical hellhole are you living in?

nah it's my fault. I leave my balcony door open at night and I don't have a screen door or anything. in fact, the screen door has recently become top priority on the Things To Do In My House list :)

I had actually closed the door, which is why the mouse was freaking out I guess. note to self: get a cat.

I did! After I got fed up with it climbing the curtains I went and opened the door. After this I sternly told it to fuck off and it did. Animal friend Teeds

after a week of lazing about, poor sleep and lots of gaming I just did some bike training. I feel like someone just beat me with a giant club for an hour. also, if you'd told me it's possible to sweat as much as I just did I would have laughed in your face. a facelaugh! ha ha! ha. :(

Spent a couple of hours on my bike with the missus yesterday evening on a nice little jaunt around Nottinghamshire picking elderflowers so I could add sugar, water, lemon and a dash of vinegar to kick-start a bucket of elderflower champagne.

Today my house absolutely mings of elderflower. The whole house.

It's bubbling along nicely tho :)

People who crash on straight roads, causing huge delays. How is it even possible to crash on a straight road?!

I nearly crashed in a straight line because some Fuckwit tried to side swipe me because he wasn't looking.

I was looking and slowed down enough to prevent it but it could quite easily have ended up a different story.

There's any number of reasons. Driver not concentrating, oncoming/overtaking driver not concentrating, car failure of some sort, animal running out in front of driver. I know someone who got hit by an old boy coming the other way who'd just happened to have had a massive heart attack and died about 2 seconds beforehand.

That happened to the sister of a friend of ours quite recently. Amazing thing was, his insurance (the guy who had the heart attack) tried to weasel out of the claim; saying his massive coronary and subsequent veer across the road into this woman's car wasn't covered by his policy. And him being too dead to care made witness statements a bit tricky. I think they had to take it to court.

It was some tool driving into the back of someone else.

Obviously I know how it is physically possible to crash, but I don't understand people's idiocy, such as not noticing the cars in front aren't moving.

The fact I don't live in the Netherlands. Granted I've just got back from a 4 day stag do there, but damn what a lovely, chilled country it is. Fuck England.

Weirdly my wife has announced it would be acceptable for us to live in The Netherlands. She doesn't want us to ever go back to the UK, hates the US, but is enthusiastic about Holland. Or Canada.

Canada would also be on my list if it were possible, my lass has also expressed a desire to move there for work at some point. Maybe one day, I've spent most the morning at work trying to learn Dutch on Duolingo.

New Zealand is my ideal place.

In an ideal world, I'd agree, but its just too far away. I never had any grandparents growing up and I like the fact that my kids do, and even their English grandparents are only an hour's flight away (the reason Canada would still work for me is that my Mum and stepfather go to that part of the world a lot anyway because of other grandkids).

Stuffs expensive in NZ and aus cause its so far for it to be transported to get there. So cost of living is higher.

Must admit even after all the travel I've done, the only place I'd consider settling down is here in good old Blighty. Sure the weather sucks, but I doubt I'd change anything else. Still the only place you can get a decent bacon sarnie as well.

I would consider California, as the weather is fantastic, but it's a bloody long way away and full of hippies.

I like Norway and Sweden. Yes, they're expensive, but they both seem so sorted.
