London is nothing compared to Paris. There you can be crossing the road, with a green light telling you you can cross, yet the traffic still has priority. So you get driven at. A lot.

Not a code of honour at all but it's courteous (to say the least) to seed something you have downloaded for more than "a few minutes". The "concept" of torrents that you're failing to grasp is peer to peer transfers where everybody's experience is made better when more and more people leave a torrent seeding after they've downloaded it. See my first sentence for the main jist, though.

I was not referring to your choice just the fact that torrent technology is not just for pirating but most people think that anyone who mentions torrents is a pirate which is wrong.

If I am gaming then I don't want to have to also have torrents running in the back ground, if I am not gaming then I don't have the PC on. While I am downloading it is also uploading on my 20mb Up, plenty imo.

While I realise some people spend their entire non working lives sat in front of their PCs, I would rather not have it switched on if I am not using it.

I usually stick my downloads on in the morning do shit - go Uni and stuff or do some work and browse forums by then shit has downloaded and seeded for a couple of hours and then I delete it all when I want to start gaming.

Works in everyone's favour because of means in focusing on seeding the latest shiiiii'

The whole seeding thing for me depends on the quality of the torrent - if it already has 1000+ seeders then I tend to just download and go as there are already plenty of people sharing so my little old connection isn't really going to affect things too much in the grand scheme of things - but if it only has a few I'll keep sharing, at least til the ratio hits 2 anyway.

But tbh I've noticed despite having 40Mbit down and 10Mbit up running torrents can make the connection a bit gash for anyone else in the house, so I've got Transmission running on my server and just leech overnight when no one else is using it.
