I said nothing regarding numbers, I just stated that you drive on the wrong side of the road? Car manufacturers have to make a second manufacturing line just to cater to your small market.

..........and Japan, Australia, NZ, Hong Kong(not a country but I like the name), South Africa, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan etc. I know those countries only run to a few thousand people but even so :)

@CorNokZ Not true.

There was a quite long interesting but also at parts boring show about the car manufacturing industry, they make the cars individually, IE there isn't a production line that churns out the same car over and over again, it's one line (Well a few one-lines.) and every car is different.

Besides.

We won the war, everyone should copy us.

Do they have anything like a patty stottie in other parts of uk?

In Hull it was a patty made of battered deep fried mash potatoes in a bun (smothered with butter ofc)

Amazing hangover cure

I've never found patties anywhere else.

From a global perspective you should convert to both the metric system and driving on the right side of the road. It makes no sense to drive on the left, from a global perspective
No they dont. At least the mini line is the same for left and right hand drive.

I wish they had different manufacturing lines! Almost all of them now are designed to drive on the right, and then for the drive on left market, just shift the wheel over, sod the rest. As the owner of a proper, designed to drive on the left car, I'm dreading the day I need to change it. Most of them now the dashboard is shaped wrong, the indicators feel wrong (using one hand for gears and the other for the wheel and indicators just feels so much better)... so yeah, I wish your statement was true...
As for whether we should change, I think if you looked at the number of vehicles in use, rather than the relative size and number of countries, it's a pretty huge number for both sides, and neither would be particularly easy to change from one side to the other any time soon. Even a relatively small country like the UK has a huge amount of cars, and then there's places like Australia, where places are more spread out, and some people rely on a car as their only way to get around. Trying to change areas like that isn't an overnight thing, it's probably not even something that could be changed easily in a decade or two, to get everyone used to driving different, to have enough cars on the road with the new configuration and all that. I know some places have changed, in both directions, but I doubt any had a quick, incident free, no confusion change, and I'd bet any that have changed in the last 10 years will still have issues stemming back to the changes, even now.

I hope they shift the pedals over as well.

And the UK will never change sides, it would be a logistical nightmare of epic proportions. Would they try and switch every body over in one night? Or work progressively from London outwards or something? It makes my head hurt just thinking about it. All of the signs and road markings that would need changing, all of the roundabouts that would need their entrances and exits reconfiguring. The UK is just too congested to figure it all out.

Sweden switched sides in the 60s. It's entirely possible. Anyway, give it 20 years (when there'll be loads of self-driving cars out and about) and it won't matter one bit.

Sweden had half the population it has now and about a twentieth of the cars (and fewer roads). It's a non-starter in the UK.

I've said it before here, I'm all for a switch to driving on the right although it would be a logistical and nigh impossible nightmare. There's plenty shitehawks having a hard time driving normally as it is.

There are some bits in there I did not even think of. The costs listed there are massive and do not take into account the inflation that comes with every project run over here. The change over would be 5 years late and cost £60b over budget.

Why can't I pay on a site that keeps saying 'no payment modules installed'. Any ideas what that means?

Well I've just suffered my first ever break-in. The fuckers have stolen several thousand pounds worth of watches I'd recently bought.

Shiii'

How if you don't mind me asking?

A mates house had PVC windows and doors when they were all the rage in the mid naughties, absolute load of kack too - had the hinges on the outside where you could literally clip off the top of the hinges and lift the door, was ridiculous.

This happened to me and mum when I lived at home. They just took the beading off from the outside and took the window out. We were in bed as well. I could never sleep soundly in that house again. Fucking dreadful.

Looks like they climbed over a gate into the back yard and forced open the locks on a rear door, which tbh wasn't that sturdy. Apart from the watches looks like they only took a Macbook as well. I'd guess they were after small high-value items they could easily carry as none of my other PC or electrical stuff was taken.

Hope u were insured

Me to! I'd got the watches as a treat to myself recently, I'd been saving up and now they are gone. Really really fucking annoying.

Don't know whether I should say this - as it's not a pleasant thought and you may not be able to do much productive - but maybe you can so here goes:

The chances of being burgled again by the same guys are increased for the next three weeks. They've had a chance to look about your gaff and see if there's anything else worth nicking that they couldn't carry opportunistically at the time. They also could be waiting for your insurance to pay out / replace your stuff so they can come back and take it again.

So, be on guard - make sure your data is backed up, if you have valuables that you've replaced maybe store them at a family member's house for a few weeks?

It's a shitty situation - but after a few weeks it's highly unlikely they'll return and your chances of being done over again drop to the random normal everyone experiences. :(

What @Scouse said is true. Be on your guard and fuck me I hope they catch the scum, utter scum, just fucking horrible cunts. Fuck rehab or whatever, knee capping would do the trick. Something the IRA actually got right. Harsh but fair.

Actually, they're statistically likely to have an untreated drug habit - a problem the decriminalisation of their drug of choice would lead to alleviating (as has happened in other countries).

But of course, we could kneecap them. That would leave an untreated drug addict with an additional phyical disability. Which, of course, is something we should all be striving for.

Go IRA! :waveflag:

If your household policy is anything like mine, items above a certain value must be declared separately. I think mine is just under £2,000.
