Ok, done.

And yet, Toht is still right.

No, he really isn't. Rear wheel drive massively over-steers, whereas front massively under-steers. It's a simple fact.

You might as well argue black is white, you would be as wrong.

Yes he is, it's down to how you drive your car, and how well a car is equipped to handle said snow and ice. Most BMW's even have
DTC (similar tech for other brands) that makes life oh so easy in such conditions, "if you know how to use it of course"

Learn to drive :p

;)

I can't even be arsed to explain the physics behind why he and you are both wrong.

Obviously you can learn to handle any particular type in any particular condition...but that doesn't change the fact that driving either is different.

Well yes, this is true, I'm talking about the fact that it's down to the driver.
As in Different, yes, more difficult, not necessarily, depends on the driver...I asume that's what toht was trying to say..yes?

Oh and rear wheel.......is more fun full stop! In any conditions.

With modern traction control systems there's less and less difference between front and rear-wheel drive in slippery conditions.

FWD is easier to drive full stop. That's why mass paroduced cars are fwd in general.

Rwd is a nightmare in technical snow driving and small maneuvers (not effectively motorway driving, like that vid).

Yes - RWD is more fun because of drifting and powerslides - but is that a feature of everyday driving?

Retarded argument is retarded.

Yes. When you have computers making 200 adjustments a second to eavh wheel in an inhuman feat of sensor reaction then grip levels are higher.

Doesn't change the underlying physics that RWD is a bitch to get up a tiny incline in the snow - especially without a fuckload of modern computing power behind it...

I do laugh at my competetive driver mate and his 1 series trying to go to work on snowy days :)

No it isn't. FWD is more popular because a. it gives a lot of packaging advantages, which is more important to more people than handling, so it sells more cars, and b. because manufacturing costs for FWD are lower, which makes cars more profitable. For a long time FWD cars were if anything harder to drive in normal conditions because understeer is inherent (although people are so used to understeer these days that manufacturers make RWD cars understeer as well). Like I said earlier, modern cars nanny you so much that it doesn't really matter which end is driving.

And for the record, in snow, with RWD, drive gently. I've owned lots of RWD drive cars and never got stuck once, (although I've had moments on diesel-laden roundabouts when I wasn't expecting it).

Theres also the fact that in snow heavy countries the amount of snow unfriendly cars sold is almost zero so it becomes a driver issue more than a car issue ofc ;)

Just to clarify, i never said 4wd or fwd isn't easier to drive, i said the problem with BMW drivers not being able to drive in snow(as per f*cking issue) is due to sucky drivers.

No matter how much @Raven tries to twist it like that :p

More game annoyances; character specific armor. Makes no sense that you can't wear clothing/etc especially with universal character sizes.

Snowy countries they just put winter tyres on and forget the whole thing.

So another 4am upgrade has taken place, this time to one of our financial systems (Which somehow is lumped in with Dynamics CRM under 'what I do'... Even though there's no integration, the finance staff have never heard of it.. I feel I got shafted somewhere) my points...

A) Patcher software probably needs to be aware that if it doesn't close/turn off all of the associated services with the patcher, the patching will fail. Lovely fun times of hunting for a fucking service which I didn't know existed, which runs under some stupid hidden account which has literally no links in services, anywhere. Hi guys, maybe document this feature. Or have a big red button somewhere saying "This might cause an issue"

B) Infrastructure 'People' (Hi GUYZ). how do you deal with us software people at 4am when we need stuff done? Literally went to the head of infrastructure and said "Oi, I need you at 4am" (Then proceeded to pull out my CoC) and they're like 'Sure' - I still don't know what you do apart from pretend to set up VMs and put numbers into boxes. Oh noes, our cloud server has gone kerplunk... Should have gone hybrid then *flies away* - Are you all robots? Especially Teedles and Deebs.

Normally when major software upgrades are happening then either the server or cloud teams are made available whether that is oncall/online. Same goes for the network, would never let a major software upgrade of key systems go unsupported.

I take it no one claiming rear wheel drive is terrible in snow have been to Bavaria in winter then? The locals seem to manage fine getting up all sorts of hills, because THEY PUT THE RIGHT FUCKING TYRES ON THEM. Of course rear wheel drive is going to be terrible on snow if you've got tarmac roller summer tyres cladding 57 inch wheels, but then so is any way of driving. Come October in Germany, everyone gets their winter wheels and tyres out and carry on as before.

The only reason we get stuck is snow is so comparatively rare over here, is its not really worth changing tyres for the 3 days a year you might need them. Would I put up with a shopping trolley front driver for the other 362? Not a fucking chance.

Doesn't help that if you put winter tyres on to increase safety, your insurance company will class this as a fucking modification and charge you for it.

Not sure on the UK thingies and school systems, but around here you can circumvent a "b*tchass review" by having peer reviews, and/or reviews you ask on the downlow from other management.

Just explain in next interview the relationship and show what other people have said, should work for reasonable people.

That all being said; might be straight up not allowed so, best check around and/or with the guys below.
