I do. I also use the same version of Office everywhere, having learned from the previous disaster that was mixing 2010 and 2013 even though allegedly it's the same document format (tip: it's not). It's literally opening a document and finding the references gone from the text body. They're still in the references database or whatever it is, just vanished from the text itself. Luckily I only cite like 15 different references or so, and the document is only 35 pages long. Not like it's any real work. *cries*

workies getting on my nerves today:

a) we have a near paperless office, however when declaring invoices we must send the invoice as a paper copy, to a department which then proceeds to scan it. you MUST PRINT OUT your digital invoice, which will then get scanned, eg digitized, eg turned back in to what it was in the first place. you MAY NOT send the digital invoice directly to the bean counters because that would be JUST PLAIN WRONG SON.
b) in order to "save paper" in our office printers, the option for single-sided prints when processing a multi-page document has been disabled, thus FORCING you to print double-sided at all times.
c) when printing invoices, they MUST be printed single-sided only or the people working at the scanning dept have to work too hard or some such nonsense. therefor with multi-page invoices you have to print everything TWICE, wasting paper and rendering (b) moot.
d) when printing and/or using MS Office for whatever reason, whatever Office program you use will somehow magically attempt to contact whatever printer is connected to your workstation, even if you just told Word to close or something. With printers often busy, and because MS software is generally awesome (blinks) this means that your workstation freezes for anything up to a minute (or even more) while the software tries to tell the printer something.
e) best thing ever: printing PDF's directly from Internet Exploder: every tab, page, open web based application just completely freezes. you can't alt-tab to another window, no sirree bob. multi-threaded, responsive apps? oh, heeeeeeellllll no. why would anyone want that?

For the multi-page invoices, just stick a blank page between each one. should print nothing on the back, then the next page on the next sheet. doesn't save paper, but saves time and ink. I've got nothing for the rest though.

yeah, except the invoices I get are usually PDF's and ofc adding extra, albeit blank, pages would render it void or some other judicial idiocy. speaking of which, judicial idiocy is very likely the reason I have to print an invoice out before having some other dude scan it again :-/

I've had this crapola in my office too. Also supposed to be a near paperless office, besides that some invoices that date back a month or two regarding part-payment we also have to print out, on the printer we have to write our access code each time, keypad is worn out so you have to bash it with precision on some digits. When that is done we need to write the address on an envelope and actually pass it on to the next dept that will mail it. Could have been a smoother way to take care of it imo.

Yeah i know coming off as a whiny dick"blabla we actually have to use HAND WRITING..".

I wonder if our engineers feel badly about how they have crippled our systems. Actually, the architects have crippled the systems; the engineers have only built what they have been told to. That's probably worse: building something you know is fucked, but doing it anyway because it's your job :(

Skin tags.

Tempted to just shave it off and spray with Tesco antibacterial multi-surface cleaner.

Not sure I fancy walking about with dental Floss tied round it.

Suppose better go to the vet to make sure its just a skin tag and not my unborn twin growing out of my neck.

I remember you saying something along the lines of you being a "bang for buck" guy nowadays when it came to graphics cards. SLI is surely the exact opposite of "bang for buck".

People who don't understand that they're the customer, and they're right, and you shouldn't allow yourself to be fucked over.

Because allowing yourself to be fucked over, causes everyone else to be able to get fucked over.
