UPP & their monopoly of student halls.

Basically, there's a few NTU student accommodation places in Notts, and they're all mostly owned by a company called UPP, and when it came to returning the deposit (surprise surprise) they're having everyones pants down.

They've charged half of people for a new fridge door because there's a dent or scrape on the door, which is like 100 quid between 6 people, and people are asking for evidence, and they're getting the same picture sent to them, literally, everyone getting the same singular photo of a little mark of the fridge door.

If that is true and could be proven it is a clear case of fraud. Need to get a lot of the letters with pictures and take it to the Police and Trading Standards. Also people like BBC Watchdog and the papers. They love a good story like that.

Actually amazing how threatening the BBC Watchdog thing works so well.

Aye, I'm hoping our landlord is the same, he's an old retired bloke with 3 houses, it's cheap and cheerful and I don't think he'll take the biscuit from what I've gathered, avoiding agencies is usually a good move.

Yeah, we had no end of troubles in our accommodation, but we just put up with it, reported it, and waited, for instance we didn't have a cooker for a week, because it took them that long to repair the shitty thing, for it to break a month later or so.

Then my en-suite cubicle flooded, it turned out water was running through like a shaft at the back of the cubicle, and running into my en-suite.

Also, we had shitty an awful heating system over the winter, where the heating was on your ceiling ( I have no idea ) It heated your ceiling, meaning that the bedroom above you was boiling hot, but yours was relatively cold, unless someone decided to turn their heating on below you, then after the winter, like a couple of months before we left, they decided to install new heaters, and the audacity in their emails was hilarious, they were like, 'oh because we care about you, we're going to have new radiators installed, unfortunately, this'll mean you'll be woken up by drilling at 8am for the next month or so, but you get new heaters!' IN THE SUMMER.

We put up with so much annoying stuff, but then get charged because myself, like many others in the other flats, moved their desk lamps into the kitchen, because the lights in the kitchen regularly broke, so we had a source of light, and not needing it in our rooms, we forgot to put them back, resulting in a £12 charge so they can 'buy new ones'

There's so many people posting stuff like, I spoke to the person that was in my room the year before, and they said they got charged for a new mattress, and then I moved in, and there was chewing gum on the mattress, and then I got charged again for it.

They're clearly taking the piss and not buying new stuff, because if they were they'd be minting it.

Oh, and to top it all off, my flatmate left after the first semester, because she was extremely ill, and they charged her a £20 administration charge because she left early.

Went to France for a couple of weeks to get away from the house and they had more rain than they've had in 40yrs. So have come back early to try and get the house sorted.

If you've been following the new house is a mess and wasn't supposed to be. We are having to replace everything. New range cooker was being delivered today from John Lewis. Customer service and all that. Driver comes in, takes one look and says oh we don't un install and install. We just take away. All was supposedly arranged. So new cooker has gone back.

I'm sitting in the kitchen, too groggy after dental work to do anything. Was about to post and a double kitchen cupboard just falls off the wall! Nearly gave me a heart attack fortunately it propped itself on things on the work surface so we were able to empty it and then drag it off the wall.

Think I must have done something awful in a previous life.

Just got windows 8.1 update on my phone which is good, but it changes settings or sets them up if u didnt have them in the first place in a dodgy way. Like turning Wifi on automatically and sharing network details to contacts, also things like automatically downloading updates without a wifi connection etc; and allowing the camera to wake up the phone from sleep even with screen lock I dont want pictures of my pocket lol.

I have an Xperia, and a big fucking green light flashes constantly when I get a message, and it's a line on the bottom of my phone, so its so fucking annoying.

Musicians or artists or what they're called these days! So this new Danish artist called Christopher had a concert planned in Copenhagen on his tour. He is a real pretty boy pop icon and my gf and her sister loves him. So far so good. Sister in law lives in Finland because of an internship, so for her birthday we bought her tickets home and back and two tickets for the concert so they could both go. She's only here for a weekend, arrives late Friday and leaves early Sunday, so not really time for much else to do while she's here other than going to the concert. Now this fucking prick has moved the concert to December so he could do another job.

Cant move the flight tickets as it'd cost a ton. I'm fucking pissed. We're two students who spend a lot of money on this gift and now it is just ruined
