I'm not sure on the delivery charge but EzyDVD are very good, I've bought a few blu-rays from them and they normally take about a week to arrive which I think is pretty good.

As that article and previous posters have pointed out it's not pure software. There's still the old gfx chip. It won't cost Sony more than a couple of quid though.

Sony could lose the PS3 and still make a fortune in the gaming market on the PS2 which they are still developing. So the PS3 might crash and burn but Sony are going no where. (I dont believe it will despite some of these choices)

I'm not sure I'd trust these guys on that. They say the GPU only costs a couple of dollars and so it's true? They also originally said PS1 compatibility was dropped, which it wasn't.

If it was purely a marketing decision, why wouldn't they drop PS1 emulation too?

Chips of that age usually only cost a few dollars. It's not an extravagant claim.

Same for the CPU right? So why would they bother removing it from the Euro PS3? Certainly wasn't to make any distinction between two models.

The article just doesn't make sense in a lot of places because it's based on one huge assumption.

They never had an emotion engine chip. US and Jap ones had a combined chip like slimline PS2.
