Looking forward to see how this turns out. If its really good I might even be able to forgive Ridley Scott for his version of Robin Hood.

I can't. It was dire.

Gladiator was only passable.
Kingdom of Heaven wasn't bad.
G.I. Jane was pretty good.
Alien, Blade Runner and Legend... BAM BAM BAM good films.

His best film was The Duellists. And come on, there's no denying Gladiator was a terrific film.

Just watched this. I'm a little suspicious, but hoping he is at home enough in the space sci fi genre to do a good job.

The trailer is referencing Alien a lot more than I expected; Scott implied it would be set in the "Alien" universe but separate; but its obviously more related to.the original film than he let on.

Yeah, I read there was a lot of speculation on whether or not it was going to be linkied to the Alien series or not, and that imagery in the trailer suggests that it is.

Any kind of sci fi space films are sort of my default to watch films, the ones I look out for first in HMV or Morrisons etc, so I'll definitely be watching this.

I thought Gladiator was pretty awsome actually. I thought Robin Hood was some sort of bad joke (OMG wooden landing craft!) Kingdom of heaven wasn't too bad.

Did anyone else catch the role reversal in the Youtube clip?
"David" sounded much like HAL9000 from 2001:A Space Odyssey.
In 2001, HAL9000 was telling Dave to "take a stress pill and think things over". :)

My cousin and I have a ritual of going to see movies we really want to see at the cinema. Makes it harder that I'm now on the coast and not in London anymore but I'm heading there in june to watch this. It looks so bloody amazing.

Why would it? Alien isn't violent at all really, apart from the dinner scene.

You don't need gore to make a film like this brilliant, he's already done it once without resorting to it.

Looks awesome, I love Ridley Scott's films. He frames every scene beautifully. Alien, Black Hawk Down, Thelma & Louise and Gladiator some iconic movies there. Even in some of the less popular movies like 1492 or Robin Hood there are scenes that make the film worth watching. Like the opening scene of 1492 in the cathedral with the giant incense burner swinging.

Can't wait....

Never thought I'd see Ridley Scott's Robin Hood and "plausible" in the same sentence...
