i dont see a problem using a hib class only group for an example :)¨
i would think the players skills would count more than the setup :)

/agree and unless you run without CC / heals / buffs / gear / damage most groups are viable

Is it viable to bot for Camlann pvp or do you need to run with two spec buffers?

It's not necesary a bot when we are making FG vs FG.
If i find a bot i would kill him tbh...
2 spec buffers can buff all the grp, and in my grp we usually were druid+shamy+cleric+healer(pac)

usually you run 2 buffers because bufbots are killable and its to much hassle to run towards a good hidden one

A lot of different set-up on camlann work. As Horde we usually ran caster groups with all kind of weird setups including fire wiz, thane, chanter, theurgist, cleric, healer, shaman, reaver. Sounds gimped but with this set-up we won a lot of fights.

Says more about the server then the setup I would argue :/

Every so often a guild from rvr comes along and makes the FOTM setup, they are low RR granted, but they are toa'd and ml'd etc. They use what they see as a great setup (and it is), however they dont do as well as they thought they would.

The advantage camlann has is the mixture of classes, it may not look perfect on paper, but its the little things that work so well together.

Horde, Fear and many other guilds utilise this to great effect. What may look a bit gimpy can actually work very well.

A peferect example is the shaman, quite possibly the biggest pain in the ass class to have in an enemy group, the main things Alb players will love is perma end...as opposed to relying on the paladin.

Bards are also amazing to have in groups, not everyone runs a bard but like the shaman its a very nice class to have

Reaver, the one man interupt machine is a real pain to face in an enemy group. If you think how hibs/mids whine at SPec AF, or how mids end is permanently on, or how hibs get baseline stun.

The only guild i know of who did really well from RVR was Lios Alfar, i cant remember any others doing so well...this either means the rvr players are not that l33t...or more probable, the camlann players aren't as shit as you may think.

Actually we played Mid and where nr 2 or so in LWRP for a few weeks. We were devided over 2 servers though.

Guess too many people where sick of DAOC and each other by then and we broke up.

If have seen many good players from RvR, both from my time on Prydwen, Avalon (did a few rounds in Musha Dori guild group), Midgard cluster and from playing with people in Horde comming from Lios Alfar. Altough they are certainly good players they aren't better then people who played Camlann all the time.

So also to the cynical people i suggest to come and "pwn" Camlann like many set groups tried before.

Its going on as we speak, here's how the "project camlann" guild is advancing. (Afaik everyone is welcome to join the guild and will get invited by simply talking to one of the almost always online GMs in it, to answer Labbes question.)

http://daoc.pirotess.org/guilds_status/Camlann/guild=1385 (not sure how updated that info is.)

and after a quick look at the projects forum i.e http://www.lia-fail.net/phpBB2/index.php

I count 17 signed up groups so far. Not all groups are inside the project-guild some are exping on their own, and some are already established.
That's not counting some of the guild that's already active on Camlann which will take part, I guess.

Also the #camlann.rvr chan has around 80-100ppl in it at all times, and the Camlann population is now greater then both Prydwen and Glaston even at offtimes. Things are looking good i'd say, atleast so far. :worthy:

Well I'd be tempted by this if I had a guild to run with :(
Sadly i cant make a very attractive offer, on holiday much of the summer, back to uni and playing less cause of work etc :(:(

There will be alot of people who are in the same boat, you could make a guild (but it sounds like your commitments would mean you dont have alot of time to run a guild) or you can join Project Camlann or one of the other guilds which were recently created. As some people are nearing 50 they will probably leave and make their own guilds so i forsee alot more guilds appearing in the next few weeks.
