Project Camlann is an idea which we are trying to spread across ALL EU servers; its an event for the ones involved in FG RvR. The idea is to gather all active players looking for FG fights, exp to ~lvl40 on Camlann, and then speed through all MLs/artifacts/quests in one big guild. When its done, people split into their respective guilds/groups, and we set a designated zone as a group vs group PvP area.

This all originates from beeing tired of spending time to build a fg, only to roam and either fight nothing, or only finding a zerg, or only seeing other groups from the same ream, or getting bored of fighting the same enemy fg over and over. This time, you can fight all other groups and no realm-mates can join in and 'help' you.

So far alot of people from our english cluster have showed interest in the idea, but in order to make it successful we need you to spread the word to your friends/guildies, and most importantly to german and french servers. Hopefully we will have enough interest soon to setup a temporary forum, since alot of people doesnt use irc. If you do, feel free to join #camlann.rvr for any questions.

~ help us spread the idea! ~

really interesting idea but let me warn you in advance, i´ve already been there, exped to 50 and quitted right after i dinged cuz the french spoil all the fun with their playstyle of constant adding/xp killing, and there is not a chance in hell to make them stop playing like that. overall camlann was a very childish server, ppl camping djinn stones with 3 animists etc etc. ofc its up to you but i´d rly consider these facts before you start a big project there.
when i played there we also had a guild of like 40 ppl and most left right after 50 ding or even before cuz they got pissed at the childish community of camlann. dont want to put down this idea but if you never played on camlann before you should know what awaits you there =)

Big diff here tho is that theres many guilds rerolling, bringing the 'no add' policy with them so dont think a few frenchies will ruin the fun for everyone, rather that they get to be 'gomgchained' by the new guilds standing up for eachother and fg vs fg fights. :]

might be true actually as i dont know how many of those ppl who played there back then are still playing there. but back than it was not just "a few" frenchies ^^ prolly if the "no add policy" guilds work together while exping and choose a zone for rvr which is very quiet usually it can work. but toa WILL be an annoying factor imo.

it exists even if you cant believe it xd

there are ppl who play the game for a challenge and not for this realm vs realm roleplay thing.

noadd policy is one of the very few things in this game which have worked and lasted a long time (year++ at least). can't really think of any of the "top" groups purposedly breaking it for a long long time, except nolby but suppose its only the exception which proves the rule. even despite of personal arguments at times groups still stuck with it.

If you actually was playing 'high end' rvr just to label it as something, you'd know that the no add policy is. :)
Most top groups on this server avoid adding on other groups cause they're after fun fg vs fg fights instead of just adding randomly to moist up any rp's they're able to leech out of a fight with adding.

Your lack of knowledge about it clearly says how you and your group plays in rvr i guess, since if a group randomly adds on everything in sight you better believe they'll get added on by others. :) Just fyi

i´m at work and totally bored and need something to read :p

ok .... will do :p

Hrm .. only concern i got is that the action will break up on camlann like 1 month or so after everyone is ready .. prolly even some b4 ppl are ready for PvP .. which means the only thing the idea has acomplished is a decrease of population on the cluster etc, which issent good. ..

tbh Eleanora is quite active in the fg rvr scene. A BokkeRijders grp is out nearly every week and I do know that they do their best as to not add or steamroll solo'ers.

I guess you're lacking some knowledge in groups then. There are more groups out then just the all RR11+ gank squads, you know? And they do try to act fairly.

If him and his group actually didnt add he would surely know of the no add policy :) (Edit: Not saying they are adders since i cant recall once fighting them or them adding on our fights or even seeing them in rvr, but, if he doesnt know about the no add policy there must be a reason for it.)
Never said that the randoms running around zerging doesnt add but, the groups as in regular set guildgroups on the cluster does not and will not add on other guildgroups fighting simply out of respect and cause they actually value good fg vs fg fights over rps. :)
Which hopefully will pass on to camlann when people reroll there if this happens. :]

Anyway, not gonna turn this into another thread about adding and no add stuffs. :) All i said was the setgroups on this server wont add on others fighting unless the others has given them a reason and that is what (imo) makes cluster (when its active) the best server(s) to rvr on out of the ones we have access too. =)

Those guilds mostly changed their ways, one Italian guild Elite are known for adding or jumping you while you buff (on camlann you dont have a safe buff zone like castle sauvage etc so people buff up at a town or place just out the way of everyones view. A common example is people pk'ing at the Hib Loop [Druim Ligen to Mag Mell] if a group needs to buff they stand in ardee house or mag mell town centre). Almost all the guilds realise you are buffing so they dont attack you. Elite dont adhere to this rule.

If group 1 is fighting group 2, a 3rd group may turn up and they will ran past without adding. If Elite are group 2 in the above scenario, the 3rd group will happily wipe elite.

In simplified terms, if you start pissing people off they will all happily return the favour and ally against you.

Because this thing does not exist except among the so called leet people, mate. The small (lower ranks) groups will still get added on, and then some lame excuse follows: Ya, but your low rr so you'll add on us maijt!

There are more groups around then just the high RR's, Septina, it's shocking, yet true.

thanks dave for deleting my post,

i allready play camlann, and i see what ya mean, but thing is that when people hear about this they go ruin it just becaus they can!

its impossible to organize something on camlann (believe me! i tried a ML rush 1-10 and always some 14 year old kiddos that needs to bring whole guild Nerf nerf TT)

and in fact that you wrote this on FH, people will see it and inform their guild just to be an ass.. hey im totally up for it, but not on camlann!

RvR on cluster is dead due to several reasons. Only setgroups left are some hib pugs, and some alb kitegroups (which are soo boring to fight). + If you make a good group you wont have anything to fight coz you cant attack your realm mates. Action is totally dependant on IRVR which loads of people try to ruin constantly, or some people just abuse it and take relics.

It will only get worse also imo, most setgroups are probably getting bored of the zerg, adds, crap action etc etc. Join the bandwagon and make the best of the last moments of a dying game.

And the project WONT be camping SI towns with immunity timer+spam spread and port out. It will be FG PvP without add/strafe/engage while resting etc etc. With acces to all realms characters and able to attack any group. Enough with 3-4 Groups out to have good action. Need 7-8 groups out on cluster (and even then you will be struggling to find any enemies)
You can PM the enemygroups and ask them where they are roaming. Exp to 40 as a Setgroup or ask around for PLtools. Very easy. Scrolls is also easymode now, and we will do all artifacts with the zerg+ all mls.

If all FGs move, you think the rest of the server will care? As far as i know, most people on daoc servers does not prefer FG rvr, aka: 1000 people online, 4 fgs out. Thats 32 players out of 1000.

what has it to do with idealism? everyone plays the game as he wants to and there is jack shit you, me or anyone else can do about it. (i´ve learned to accept that in my 6 months break :p) it has more to do with what your definition of fun is. i find it funny when ppl say they add/zerg cuz its a realm vs realm game, i mean honestly why cant they just admit that its fun for them, nothing wrong with that rly, they pay same subs as anyone else so they can play like they want to. its just a bit patethic to look for silly excuses like its a MMO or its a realm vs realm game instead of just admitting that they enjoy it.

then again for other ppl (including me and septina for example its simply boring to add/zerg as there is no challenge in adding on an even 8vs8 or even zerg. at the current state of the game theres like very little chance to win a 8vs16 if the 16 are half-decent players. for the group that added its no achievement and definitaly nothing to be proud of when you kill them. and for both other groups which had an even good fight till the moment of adds the adding group just spoiled the fun. so where is the point in adding when no1 gains anything from it except for the few rps. and tbh its not hard to become rr11 even 12 nowadays with the new rp system no matter if you add or not.
i mean top 50 on the server have 1mill+ lwrp.

Such a load of bollocks but ok ^^
Whenever i played with my group, believe it or not we didnt add no matter what group it was we saw fighting and so is the case from many other of the so called 'leet people'.
If you've been added on by some of the high rr groups i'm pretty sure they had a reason to add.

As i've said countless times before most set groups play this game for the fg vs fg and not for the rp's but feel free to believe whatever you want. :)

And the same goes for you. And I haven't been added on since I don't play in fg's. But I do watch alot of fg fights, and aye, some of the high RR groups are kind enough to not add, and not kill me afterwards. But most of them are just: zomg, kill.

It's mostly PUG's that leave me standing when I watched their fight, tbh. THe others seem to think that my solo thane compromises a large threat.

If you say so, not gonna call you a liar, i know for a fact that when my group ran we left soloers, duos, trios etc and i know for a fact that when i solo its the pugs, low rr groups etc that chain me down and not the set groups. :)

honestly, i can hardly believe that unless you rly managed to piss all so called "l33t guilds" off in some way.

oh and a side note: not all groups that have a rr11 char in group are automatically a "l33t guild". there are tons of rr10+ ppl nowadays and not everyone has gained that rank with fg vs fg rvr.
