Says someone who has probably never been to a match at Old Trafford.

I have been going for almost 30 years bud, I have seen legends in the centre for United and Carrick is not and never will be in that class. Ince was far better, Robbo was on another planet, Scholes up until 3 years ago contributed far more and Keane was immense. Carrick is good but he just doesn't measure up, he is a good passer but not quick, strong or brave. His shooting leaves alot to be desired too, in that regard Lampard is much much better.

Oh and your barbed insult missed the mark, I have watched more matches live and seen more great players than you have, of that I am certain. I have travelled Europe to see El Classico on a number of occasions, been to 4 Milan derbys, been at 2 world cups and have probably seen more live CL games than anyone on this forum. I know good football and I can analyse it just fine, you on the other hand just made an ass of yourself and achieved nothing.

Haha, you idiot.

Just because you go to games doesn't mean you are able to analyse who is a good player and who is not. In fact, there are more distractions in the stadium and therefore I would say you are less able to determine who is good. Maybe my intelligence is beyond your comprehension, but when I watch a football match I can pick out easily the best players and their traits. It is just a talent. In terms of the players you mentioned, Keane was the best, Robson was OK and so was Ince.

And claiming you know more about football and have seen more great players than me? Since your are so deluded with your own elitist attitude I will have to explain to you - because you think you have seen more games and thus better placed to make judgement than me. You are a rookie compared to me. I remember seeing Kopa, di Stefano and Puskas destroying the European Cup in 58, I saw George Best tear apart defenders in the 60s. I saw Garrincha and Pele dominate the world cup 62. I saw Krankl's fantastic goal for Barcelona in the 70s. I saw Socrates and Zico in the 80s. I saw Boniek and Platini for Juve 80s. I watched Stoichkov and Hagi in the 90s.

Don't you tell me who knows more about football, because if some rookie who thinks he knows it all thinks he can take me on then he or she is mistaken. You will not win.

Now kindly come back and have a conversation when you know something about football.

As if anyone would believe a useless sack of shit like you anyway. Lets be honest, you are just here trolling in the hope of a permanent ban so you can stroke your own ego a little more. You are a kid, plain and simple, any mature adult in thier 50's or 60's would not spew forth garbage at such regular intervals as you do.

Lets hope the ban is forthcoming, at least we won't have to put up with your pathetic wittering anymore.

Nothing to counter my arguement then? Just because you don't know any of those players (well, maybe Best because you are a Man United fan) doesn't mean I am not right.

What you are trying to do is convince yourself that I am lying because you are trying to compensate for your lack of arguementative skills - you are wrong and I know that you know it.

At least I can be satisfied now =).

Anyone can wiki a few famous players, everyone knows you are not in your 50's or older though, watched a few DVD's did we and you are an armchair expert now? You couldn't get one up on me if you tried and I was sleeping. You are just another keyboard warrior who gets off on trolling. If not then why would you keep saying you are leaving and then coming back to stir the pot a bit more?

I prefer to use my old videos and memories than wikipedia.

Since you suggested it you probably do it yourself. I'm willing to bet you wikipedia'd Bryan Robson, Roy Keane and Paul Ince just to make the point you did a few pages back - hilarious stuff =).

If you want to know anything about Man United just ask me - or anything about football for that matter.

Please don't embarrass yourself anymore - I know I have won and I know you have lost - prolonging this will only make me enjoy this more, and you wouldn't want that would you? :).

Go back home kid, and play your Fifa 09 :).

i would guess lucius is someone that banned many times for not being able to use a forum without acting like an idiot.

Cho, just leave it. The entire points of these threads are currently getting ruined wit things going on (lucius being an idiot - people changing votes without reason after long periods etc). Soon it wont be worth even making a vote if this all keeps up.

In short, lucius can have his own opinion even if we think it all wrong.... if he is as good as he says i can only assume he works as a scout for one the worlds big clubs and if he did he wouldnt be here... he would be finding the next Ronaldo

You don't have to be a scout to know football well.

Anyway, I will leave this thread, I have things to do. I don't want others to suffer from mindless trolls such as cHodAX - I apologise to others who I am sure will side with me about the flame war :). I would advise those who are intimidated by cHodAX to remember that he is just trying to belittle people and to ignore him. Thanks.

Funny how cHodAX claims to have been going to Old Trafford for 30 years when the only midfielders he can name are Robson, Keane and Ince - all of whom played only 10-15 years ago.

I will end this now - because I am the bigger man.

if you know it as well as you say then you would be tens of thousands of pounds a week as a scout .. or working as an agent and taking massive junks of money from deals brokered for the young players your expert eye found. :p

And i dont think you find many that agree with you on the carrick front. I rate him highly but he isnt one the top players and at times has looked average. Only time I feel I can settle on carrick doing a decent job is with anderson and fletcher in the midfield with him as they do the dirty work.

Carricks long range passes are often inaccurate (he is no scholes) and you talk about his long shots but not mentioning his right footed shot midweek where he had all time in the world on his strong foot and he totally messed it up, dragged it and it would have trundled along to the corner flag if it wasnt for tevez flicking it in.

But as said, we need to leave this. Your entitled to your opinion as are the rest of us. Majority wins in these threads so we know that the decision is right (just wish people would think before they post and stick to their decision. Trust ya instincts and all that :D )

gohan.. hasnt modric been playing from the left wing though, and not through the middle?

He been playing much like ronaldo from the right... he starts wide but creates alot by coming into the middle (often drifts in between midfield and defense centrally to make chances etc)

edit: not to say your wrong for saying modric, just thought that he seemed to be from left wing mainly whenever i watched.

Well, he's never really played central midfield, he's usually in the hole behind the strikers or out on the left. Infact at Wigan I remember we had Modric and Lennon on the left, with no-one attacking the right hand side, it was ludicrously lop-sided.

he's kinnda played all over, started as a supporting striker when they were 4 5 1

then was CM then LM so i guess he's in the same vien as Gerrard who has played CM RM and SS

if u want an out and out CM i'd probly say Masherano as he is basicly a pit bull, not to disimular to how viera and keane used to paly in the DM role

Maybe next year add a rule saying they need to have played half the games? Essien has played 10 PL games out of 37

I just dont think people are thinking about the the thread and are just throwing names around who they think are good players. This is a thread for the best premiership midfielders of this season.

Essien should be no where near it and for those who have chosen him, I would love to hear you justify selecting a midfielder who has played 10 premisership games all season, of which one he started as sub and 4 times he was subbed. You just cant justify it and I as I said, people are naming him because they think hes a good midfielder.

I justify it by saying what he done in them 10 games has been far beyond what most players done in a lifetime for their clubs.

Now i could vote for other people such as giggs who been inspirational at times for utd, however I feel essien reignited that Chelsea team more then just what he done on the pitch. As such i feel that he deserves a mention, afteral he probably one the if not the best CMs (especially as a destroyer) in the world.

No its not. You along with many others are just naming him because you think hes a good player. He wasnt even good for the first couple of games back in the premiership from injury. So he has done more in half a dozen games this season than Lampard, Gerrard, Fabregas, Alonso, Carrick, Anderson, Ballack etc etc has he? Have you even seen all the games Essien has played?

Anyway, your choice, I just think its a bit laughable thats all.
