As a United fan who has seen Carrick play almost 30 times at Old Trafford I have to say you are wrong, he is a decent player but he isn't even in the top 5 midfielders in England at the moment.

Then you obviously don't watch the game. When you are able to analyse a game well and deduce who is a good player and their best attributes, then make a comment.

I am leaving this thread now.

Says someone who has probably never been to a match at Old Trafford.

I have been going for almost 30 years bud, I have seen legends in the centre for United and Carrick is not and never will be in that class. Ince was far better, Robbo was on another planet, Scholes up until 3 years ago contributed far more and Keane was immense. Carrick is good but he just doesn't measure up, he is a good passer but not quick, strong or brave. His shooting leaves alot to be desired too, in that regard Lampard is much much better.

Oh and your barbed insult missed the mark, I have watched more matches live and seen more great players than you have, of that I am certain. I have travelled Europe to see El Classico on a number of occasions, been to 4 Milan derbys, been at 2 world cups and have probably seen more live CL games than anyone on this forum. I know good football and I can analyse it just fine, you on the other hand just made an ass of yourself and achieved nothing.

Cahill and Gerard. If I had a third vote, I'd pick Fletcher, purely because he's a Scottish version of Park =) Loads of enthusiasm, passion, effort and little bits of class here and there =)

Heh, i was going to say i wonder what people like Chodax think.

Talking to you about football is like talking to Thuggz about Thidranki.

Take your pick of long range goals - edit. wrong video. theres 1 with all 100 goals he scored but i cba to find it

YouTube - frank lampard top 10 goals

there's 2 vs everton and 1 vs lazio which are atleast equal to the roma goals, didnt watch the whole video because there are so many goals.

Just to add i'm not saying Carrick is bad or anyhting, hes still a good player hes just not got shit on lampard/gerrard yet

Yes I did - you said you wanted to see evidence of Carrick being better at shooting outside the box - I told you his (2) goals against Roma and goal against Wigan showed that. Look it up on YouTube.

Anyway, I have to go now - I apologise the thread has come to this. However, I feel it was inevitable because of people's hatred towards me, even though I do not hate them back.

Bye and kudos =).

Lampards goals against Hull, Ipswich, 2 against Fulham off the top of my head, all outside the box.

Try again.

To people voting for Cahill - Surely Fellaini has had a better season?

A good point but Cahill just seems a more complete player to me personally, I rate Fellani but I think Cahill would be a star at a bigger club.

Yeah I wish I could take back my vote for Labour at the last election too but that wouldn't make it right and proper to do so. You make your choice and you should stick with it.

Ireland has been good but at his young age he often completely neglects any defensive responsibilities imo

cho, its called discussion, if you want to make one vote and stick to it, go for it. Some people have made good points about players others may not have considered, deal with it.

I think he's the best CM in the league after Lampard, Essien and Gerrard. But i refuse to vote for Gerrard.

In short, No.

As I just said in pm, I could live with someone changing vote very quickly but after nearly a week? No, I am sorry but it was a strategic vote change as far as I am concerned.

unvote gerrard - essien

vote ireland - essien

been mulling this over, I would have gerrard where benitez has played him most of the season, as a supporting striker. I think these two would make a fantastic pairing, but then you can make the same argument with lamps replacing ireland. Feel that ireland has been consistent without the support of great players around him and even when his team has been poor, lampard is always consistent but has great players around him to help.

As for Essien, he has only been back for 3 months, but he has been immense. I'd put him in any midfield in the world as my first choice.

Lethul, I think Alonso is great, and he is only going to get better over the next few years. However, there is so much talent to choose from in midfield makes choosing hard, and there is not much in it between the top 5 or 6 midfielders in the prem. Oh and nothing wrong with you voting gerrard and alonso, if you think they are the best then go for it, bias or not.

Well i know i can, but since i think its a tie between Gerrard Lampard Alonso and Essien (even if Essien hasn't played much and Gerrard played second striker most of the time). Maybe i should change my vote to Lampard and Alonso with that in mind and vote Gerrard as forward :p

Well, I've picked Gerrard, Ireland, Lampard and Palacios as my midfield on another forum, surely they're all central midfielders, certainly no wingers!
