Bleh. Great performance from the Villa, didn't deserve to lose that. Five minutes of injury time my arse.

We scored in the 92nd minute, are you going to say there wasn't 2 mins of extra time? Villa spent a good part of the last 20 mins time wasting and it came back to bite them on the arse.

The refs have been giving a lot of stoppage time in every match this season. Nearly always been 4mins, very few games with less than that. I was a bit surprised at 5 mins though.

Time wasting? Take your red specs off Chodax. We had Gabby and Ashley given offside about four times in the second half alone when they were actually onside; had Man United players kicking chunks out of our players and throwing themselves over at the slightest touch, yet the ref only books our players.

It is the sort of thing one comes to expect at Old Trafford but don't pretend it doesn't happen. And I'm not complaining that you won the game (undeservedly) in the 2nd minute of injury time, just at the bias and incompetence of the officials who run our game.

Bud, offsides and fouls had nothing to do with it. Every time Villa got a dead ball after United's second goal they dwelled on it, taking 5-10 seconds longer than they needed to. The ref pointed to his watch on a number of occasions to make them aware he was adding time on but your boys kept on doing it. Hell even the radio commentators who are very pro-Liverpool made note of it.

Oh and I don't need specs, I had my eyes lasered 2 years ago and have 20:20 vision, without hindsight too! ;)

Listen, I am not doing Villa down, they deserved at least a point if not the win. They played very well and came to win so full credit to them. 5 minutes was a stretch for sure but 2 minutes certainly was not, when it comes down to it we didn't need 5 minutes to score and Villa can only blame those players who were running the clock down in the first place. Sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it doesn't, today was just one of those days where we got the luck.

Typical Utd hey... Liverpool have got points this season from scoring in injury time 8 games this season. Would say Utd were doing a Liverpool :D

My god that game was bad on the heart , lol. Great finish by macheda and after scoring the second it only looked like 1 side was going to win the game.

That said, Villa deserved something from the game. They looked at our weakness in defense and made the most of it. Some nice play and good counter attacking football from them. If they play like that against all the other teams they may well just get that 4th spot still.

Heskey out injured is the best thing for them as you cant beat abby and carew for their forward 2. Heskey just doesnt quite fit.

fergi time is just whatever time he says it is.. he never happy, always to long or too short.

To be fair the referee gave villa time to get back into it by playing extra time ontop of the 5minutes, if it was just for fergi he be blowing up after the goal, not playing beyond what he said :p

Still, it a sign of a team taht never gives up if they keep going to the end.. that the only reason Liverpool kept in the fight. They decided not to give up when the end is near which is a change for them

not in recent years, showed themselfs to ahve a never say die spirit plenty of times as in all honestly we havent had the raw talent to win anything for the best part of 15 years, only been in the last 2 that weve put a decent squad together again

year we won the CL we onyl had 1 eligible striker milan baros, and ofc dont need to go into the never say die attitude thier

liverpool score a hell of alot of last gasp goals, mainly from gerrard in the CL

but man u are more famous for it, probly down the the 99 final

aye, this is exactly the reason.. unfortunately labels stick around on a team for a long time. ie, Arsenal still known as the 1-0 team by a lot of folks even though it not been that way for years.

As for liverpool, prior to this year i only really thought of a few your players giving everything all the way to the final whistle... mainly that was Gerrard having to do it all... however now almost the whole team give right until the end no matter how the game is going.

Utd's defensive display past few games will give Liverpool fans some hope. I must admit it was a great game to watch but I did feel for Villa, who deserved at least a point from it.

Hope Utd's defence is as bad against Arsenal in a months time. Gary Neville showing his slowness and lack of matches, he was shite. That just after giving him another year, or so the commentators out here were saying.

hawkwind consider who we actually had playing in defence. Rio will be back from the Porto game and Vidic back after serving his ban. Barring the Liverpool game both have been fantastic.

To be fair Vidic and fredinand were both out thats got to be most of the reason they were so bad! i mean theyve been ok most of the season aslong as they had one but i mean yesterday if neville wasnt getting done for height by carew he was being done for pace by young...poor fella :p But i do think our defence will imporve when we actully get our defance back!

How can you grief Neville? Sure he wasn't superb but in the second half when you needed leaders him and giggs were amazing, he was bombing forward constantly and played his own part in the winning goal.

We have mentioned vidic and ferdinand, but we were also missing Brown who is a very good centre half and right back. Rafael has been a revelation this season and he was out also.

Lookinig at liverpool if they lose Gerard or Torres for one game that will be the game that they lose on.

Ferguson was spot on, we've enough experience agasint defending a lead against better teams than Liverpool. I wish Sky would have showed Jamie bum chum redknapp when Kiko stuck the ball into the back of the net!!!!!!

Grafite has always been a beast. Just look at his stats for Wolfsburg - 31 goals in 41 matches. I think he's so underrated because he's around 30, and he has spent the majority of his career in brazillian football afaik.

I did state 'Past few game' meaning last 3-4 games. You have looked alot more vunerable at the back than normal. Got 4 Man Utd in my office and they agree with that. Admittedly one is Pakistani, 2 Lebanese and an Indian and not one of them has been to the UK let alone Manchester. So a fairly typical Utd fan ;)

Just making the point that given last few games teams will be more willing to have a go at Utd.

As for my Neville comments, please keep playing him. I'm totally wrong about him, he's the quickest and best defensive player in the world!

I totally agree but remember that is when we are at out most dangerous as well, if teams come out to play us we get space to attack and we have the players who have the pace to exploit those gaps.

Neville is not the player he was before injury. He has never been the fastest, but he is intelligent and covers well, he usually only makes runs when they pay off as well. As club captain he brings more to the field than just his ability though. A fit Neville is good for the club, Brown and Rafeal are both very good options at right back, but Neville handles pressure better and has the experience needed. I doubt he will get many games next season, but you need those older players to help the younger ones grow.
