You do realise that Villa have finished top four a few times before? And you do remember the time when Arsenal were a mid-table club? We used to quite look forward to trips to Highbury back then, almost a guaranteed three points :)

My first year with a season ticket was 1994-95 we finished 12th ;)

hahah,

bedtner rocks, sure he may of scored... but how did he miss twice(in seconds) when it was easier to score ... that is where he really needs to get better. He wastes to many easy chances.

That was a shocking miss well 2 but its good to see Eduardo back and looking fairly sharp if not a bit lacking on match fitness. Also good to see Vela playing i have wondered why we played Eboue and not Vela left Nasri right a few times this season.

from what little i know about him (i know about all his potential and skills, talking positional) isnt he better suited upfront or on the right hand side rather then playing out on the left?

But aye, Wenger reallly doesnt seem to like gambling on the youngsters in the league when there someone in the 1st squad that can do a half arsed attempt on a position.

From what i have seen he pulls onto his left foot alot but yeah he would rather play upfront. Its one thing that always bothered me about Wenger players like Eboue who he rates (I hate) playing in the wrong posistion rather than giving the kid a chance in his natural spot.

Wenger is going senile, Arsenal are a shell of there formerselves and have simply been horrid this season, if it wasnt for the form of Van Persie they would be far far lower in the table then they are now.. Wafa for them next season.. amazing.

when will people learn to leave a man on the edge of the box to stop the little ginger magician from hitting them volleys.

He hit that one so sweetly it was good to see it go in the back of the net due to the technique used to get power, swerve and keep it down.... keeping wasnt great but you can see why it squirmed away.

Only thing with scoring so early, the game will get more open. So we may have to actually defend our clean sheet record a bit more then if we scored late in the game.

man utd been having a field day.. scholes is doing immense amount of good work today.... i think he decided that a certain old boy is getting to much praise at the moment and doesnt want to feel left out :D

47% of the play for the first half of the match was in Fulhams third of the pitch.... that is a crazy high level. In most one sided games it in the middle more then anywhere. Shows how dominant it is.

Rooney will get a run out after the hour mark (maybe 65-70min mark). Good game to ease back in if continues like first half.

It should have been 4-0 at half time. Berba was on top form, thriving off the running of Tevez and the passing of Scholes, we never looked under pressure at any point.

Milan had quite a few balls that got into their box, and were allowed a lot of play in and around the box. They only had Pato upfront with very little support. The way we play we would punish them for that. Our centre backs and full backs are a lot faster than Maldini and co, and bigger too. Adriano and Ibra will not have such an easy time winning every 1st and 2nd ball. It will be close, Jose is a bastard to play against. We are strong through the middle of the pitch, and very fast in wide areas, I think that width will give us enough over the two legs.

The thing about Italian defenders like Maldino, Cannavaro, Nesta etc, is that they have never been the quickest, but the things that sets them above from the rest, is that they dont need pace. They are so good at reading the game, that they are hardly ever in a position where a striker will outpace them. I rate Ferdinand and Vidic in this catergory, but not defenders like Terry or Carragher, whos positional sense and reading of the game or somewhat lacking, hence why you will often see these two having to throw themselves at a striker in a last ditch attempt

i think we have enough to get the result over Inter. Think we need to win at home by a goal or two as probably be a draw in italy. That said I think we got what it takes all around the pitch to win both legs but it be a tight match as Jose knows us well.

We got pace in our defense as well as good positional players so think we should be able to cope with their strike force, and as good as the old boys in their defense are I dont think they be able to cope with the switching, the movement and the pace of the united attack.

Need Ronaldo to get on a bit of form mind you, he getting frustrated in recent weeks and it has been affecting his play. But i have faith in the lad, he does plenty to influence the game, just lacking that extra edge he had in past couple seasons.,

Inter are a good side and deserve alot of respect, if we play well though and use our width/pace properly they will be in a for a real hard time. Vice-versa we need to defend with strength and confidence, that means someone from the midfield has to sit and protect the centre at times.

At our best we have the edge, less than that and it will be a real scrap.

It's only a hamstring, and to be expected after so long out. Surprised Wenger let him play as long as he did, especially after the Croatia game in midweek. Nothing serious, and after what he has been through I imagine he is glad it is only a hamstring.

Eduardo asked to stay on it was planned he play 60 minutes, but like has been said you don't come back after a year with full fitness. Fingers crossed he does not get any serious problems.

yus, but was that 9months of being unable to play due to a severly broken leg where you could have went round killing people by stabbing them with the bones coming out your leg? :p

We deserved a draw I think, although I'll admit that Chelsea had more (and better) chances. We stretched a very good team to their limit in the second half, though, and made them look very ordinary.

The fact that Chelsea had a week off whilst we had a very tough game in midweek and a tough away game in the FA Cup last weekend didn't help.

I hope we can regain our composure in front of goal soon, though, as it is getting a little worrying. And please, please, please will somebody give Cuellar some passing practice.

At least Arsenal could only claw back one point in the chase for fourth...

Arsenal were appalling. You used to be able to guarantee yourself great football, played at pace and with great goals watching an arse game. What they have produced this season is shocking. Real fall from grace, and they do not deserve champs league football playing like they do. Wenger is to blame for keeping faith in some very average players.

wasnt impressed with arsenals performance again.. they really looking a shadow of the team they used to be.

Villa played dire in the first half, second half they pretty much had full control but just couldnt create that killer chance. To be fair it was a bad time to play them, after they just got a new manager most teams start of well.

And grrrrrr.... no vidic and VDS... and blackburn just score.... thats a surprise. lol. Damn it. Worse that it came from nani and scholes leaving it for each other.
